"Hahaha," the king's laughter boomed with sarcasm. His hand lashed out, sending a stinging slap across her face that sent her crashing to the floor once more.
Despite his expectations that this omega would fall for him, her words had ignited his wrath. Each lie she uttered fanned the flames of his anger, despite the harsh choking he had inflicted upon her.
"One more lie, omega, and I will kill you!" the king snarled, reaching for the katana hanging on the wall.
With a swift motion, he drew the blade and pointed its gleaming tip at Omega's trembling neck.
The terror in the omega’s eyes was unmistakable; she understood the gravity of the king’s words and the possibility of losing her life at that very moment.
"Your Majesty," she uttered, her voice trembling with fear when she addressed the king. "I speak the truth." Yet, her words were mere lies. "I fell for..."
"The f*****g hell I care, omega," the king snarled. With an iron grip, he tightened the blade against the omega's neck, drawing blood.
"No, please!" the omega pleaded, the pain excruciating.
Fear consumed him, leaving him unable to utter anything but words of supplication. Pleading for the king’s forgiveness.
"Listen well, omega. I am not joking. Death awaits at my command." The king readied his katana, poised to end the omega's life. But before the blade could fall, a furious pounding echoed from outside the room.
With a violent thud, the door burst open, revealing a panting beta.
"Your Majesty." Beta's statement was accompanied by a bow. "Some Rogues have escaped from prison."
"What?" The king handed his katana to his Beta. "What are the Epsilons doing guarding the prison at every corner of the kingdom?" The king asked angrily.
Some imprisoned rogues were former Alphas who violated kingdom laws. The escapees were among those imprisoned for violating the previous king's laws.
"They escaped during the changing of the guards, Your Majesty." His Beta explained.
The king remained silent, straightening himself before leaving the room, leaving only Omega inside. Omega's neck wound was then treated by Iota.
"Ensure that Omega remains captive," as the king's order the Beta said to the lota before following the king.
……
The King, accompanied by his Beta and royal guard, ventured into the jail to investigate the escapees' evasion. Several Epsilons had been incapacitated during the incident.
A guard reported, "Your Highness, there's no indication that the escapees remain within the palace."
King's expression hardened. His gaze fell upon the Epsilons, his disapproval evident. His pheromones surged through the prison, igniting fear within the Epsilons due to their negligence.
Sensing the gravity of the situation, they realized his wrath was imminent.
"Dispatch troops immediately to apprehend the escapees," the King commanded sternly before exiting the prison.
The king remained unfazed by the escape of the Rogues, confident in his own might.
His only concern lay with the vulnerable commoners. The possibility of the Rogues forming an army to retaliate against their banishment weighed heavily on his mind.
Returning to his room with his Beta, the king allerted, "Beta, did you not instruct the lota to secure the door?"
"I did, Your Majesty," the Beta responded, having entered first to investigate the open door.
However, a surge of unfamiliar pheromones alerted the king, prompting him to rush into the room, dismissing any lingering doubts of imminent danger.
With lightning-fast reflexes, the king dodged a dagger that flew towards him. The Beta, acting with equal haste, placed himself before the king, shielding him from any potential threat.
The king clenched his fists, his gaze fixed on the blinded Lota who lay on the floor, her gaze still fixed to the invaders. The room was in shambles, equipment scattered everywhere, as if a fierce battle had taken place.
"Damn it," the king cursed under his breath, his nose twitching at the pungent mix of the omega's pheromones and those of the rogue werewolves who had escaped prison.
His eyes widened as he noticed the omega being held captive at the balcony gate by a Rogue, two others standing nearby. The omega bore visible wounds, indicating a valiant attempt to resist her captors.
Amidst their smirking grins, the Rogues inhaled the seductive pheromones of the omega. Despite the medication suppressing her heat, its allure lingered.
"Since when has the king concealed such a captivating omega within his chambers?" a Rogue queried, licking the omega's cheek playfully. Another savored the scent of her neck.
The three Rogues' audacity enraged the king, triggering the release of his pheromones.
"Release her," he commanded, striding towards them with a determination fueled by his protective instincts. The sight of their familiarity with the omega ignited a fire within his inner wolf.
Startled, the Beta found himself pushed aside as the king asserted his authority.
One step closer, Your Majesty, and I'll end this Omega's life." A dagger pressed against the Omega's throat, a threat from Rogues holding her captive.
Despite the Omega's resistance, her training was no match for the Alphas' overwhelming strength, especially during their heat, which drained her energy. Moreover, the new king's potent pheromones further weakened her.
"Who are you to command me?" the king demanded, his eyes burning with fury. The color of his gaze had shifted.
Unconcerned with the omega's fate, he focused solely on ending the three rogues' lives.
The Rogues, sensing the king's lack of concern for the Omega, felt a surge of terror at his raw power, both physical and the intensity of his pheromones, trembled with fear and hesitated. They realized the futility of their threats and the dire consequences that awaited them.
Feared by the king, they released the omega, but it was too late for them to escape after entering the king's room. Despite hoping for a strong challenge, they realized the king had no concern for the omega.
As the king approached, they anticipated punishment and attacked in desperation before he could reach them. Changing into their wolf forms, they charged at him simultaneously.
However, their efforts were futile. The king, being their superior, swiftly defeated them one by one with a single hand, without the need to transform into a wolf.
The King spared the Rogues' lives, hoping they could aid in apprehending the remaining fugitives.
Silently, the King turned away from the three unconscious Rogues lying on the floor. Once defeated, they had reverted to human form.
The Beta swiftly disposed of them. Meanwhile, the king approached the Omega, who was severely weakened by its heat, exacerbated by the potent mix of pheromones in the room.
The Beta removed the Rogues from the chamber before summoning the Epsilon, aware of the King's desire to conceal the Omega's state from others.
After Beta apprehended the three Rogues he secured the king's room, he summoned Epsilon to retrieve and bring them back to the prison.
Within the king’s room, the king dispersed pheromones to neutralize the remnants of the Rogues' scents and establish his own.
"H-help me.. hmmm.," implored the trembling Omega, its voice barely a whisper. It extended her hand towards the king.
Seeking relief from the overpowering heat that consumed her body, the Omega appealed to the king.
"Damn it, Omega," the king hissed, gripping the Omega's arm and attempting to assist it to its feet.
However, the Omega's legs faltered, and it collapsed onto him.
The king caught the omega before it fell.
