Nikki was walking to the hallway like a zombie because she didn’t sleep well last night it also because of her nightmare and she was going to the cafeteria. It was almost morning when she was again drowsy but never made it back to sleep because she had class at eight. She was still yawning as she wandered around to find a seat for breakfast.
Even though it was only 7:35 she saw that the cafeteria has a many students who also eating breakfast. She glanced at desk where Honey's group was sitting. She allowed her to come, but suddenly a familiar voice called Nicki.
“Nikki.” She faced to the direction of the young woman’s voice. Melody was waving at her, sitting with her friends Chelsea, Miley and Jake. “Come here at us.”
When she looked at Honey's group she was no longer looking at her and doing their own thing. She was embarrassed but she just came up to Melody’s group, for her it was more embarrassed to if she refuse to accept the invitation of the group she wanted to belong to.
“Hi Nikki,” Chelsea greeted her and usual expressionless face of Miley. She sat down beside to Melody and she saw the food they were eating.
She slowly glanced at Jake that smiling at her, she looked at other direction just to be sure that no one notice them. “Melody said you leave the party earlier?” Chelsea asked while Jake’s arm in her shoulder.
“I sleep early.”
“You are not used to college life but if go with us with the club I think you will use to go to the party every night.”
“And we don’t like gate crashes,” Miley suddenly said.
“Miley, don’t be harsh to her,” Chelsea scolded her friend.
“No it’s okay, its fine.”
“Loser,” Miley whispered.
“I think you should order your food first and then came back here to eat,” Melody suggested to Nikki. When she bought a sandwich and yogurt, she immediately returned to Melody's table. They eat at the same time, they ask her questions and she answers. Sometimes she doesn't seem belong to the group especially when they talking something else that she doesn’t understand.
“By the way Nikki, when do you want to take your task?”
She remembered again about the task she need to do, “oh yes I almost forgot about that.” She thinks shortly but she remembered the day just to do the task, “why not to the acquaintance night?”
“Wow.”
“I think that was a right idea.”
“Really?”
She heard different comment from the group, “is it okay?”
“Yes, yes, it was a perfect night. No one will think that some students will go that that room and it was exciting,” Chelsea said with smile in her lips.
“But why do you want that room on the task?” She suddenly asked. The three girls looked at each other before coming back to Nikki.
Even the three girls they don’t have an answer, “it’s nothing. We just like to know what’s on inside of that room or if it is a black magic there.” Melody explained. Nikki didn’t convince to their answers. Until she attend to her class, when her second class finish, it didn’t erase the fact that she still thinking about that room or just a coincidence.
She was almost going out to the room when someone call her, “hey,” she was almost dropped to the floor because of shocked. She was mad looking to Honey.
“Are you going to kill me?” Nikki sarcastically asked Honey. “And wait a minute, why are you suddenly appeared out of nowhere to surprise me?”
“What? Honey acted like she doesn’t know anything, “I think it was coincidence.”
“There’s no such think a coincidence everything has a reason.”
“Hey, I don’t know.”
Nikki started to walked when she feel Honey followed and walking beside her, “are you officially member of LC?”
“Why you suddenly interested to them? You said you don’t like them?”
“It’s not like that, I’m just concern about the task they gave you.”
“Really, it’s that so?”
“Yes it is, I said to my group that you want to join us. But then again they saw you that your talking to the LC especially Chelsea that’s they rejected you. Being in the two group is absurd, they don’t know where’s your loyalty. What we have we have parties and then they have to? What if every event we have and also has the same event them? That’s the big problem dude.”
“You’re overreacting Honey, what do you mean by party? Party with five members in the group and if they have the same date with the same group I belong, it’s not a big deal and big problem.”
“Okay so it’s official you can never be join to us,” Honey proudly said,
“Wow, then don’t. I even join to you and then I was banned.”
Nikki walking now fast but Honey stopped her, “hey wait.”
“What again?”
“I’m the only one who did this,” and then Honey leave her again, like a drama queen. She couldn't understand why Honey acted like that. She scratched her head. She thought about the room and went there for a moment. There are many who walk through that area but don't just look or talk about the room. She glanced for a moment and immediately returned to her department.
She was walking back to her department when she saw Mrs. Douglas stands among the crowd. It looked at her and she can’t read her emotion. She hurried to get to come with Mrs. Douglas, but when she got closer to Mrs. Douglas spot was only a few steps away. She was shocked and for a second she lost her breath. She saw how Mrs. Douglas lost her sight. She did not know if she was imagining things or if she had seen the truth. The students didn't pay any attention and anyone but her.
“What’s the meaning of that?” She asked herself.
