“What happened to you, Chelsea?”
Nikki moved backward to avoid Chelsea. Melody keep on giving her a alcohol to drink and because of that she decided to leave the party before she be wasted on that night. She was almost going back to her dormitory to take rest when she heard a man’s voice.
“Why are you with Lily?”
Irritated voice of a woman and talking to the man’s voice. She couldn't see his face because he was still leaning against the big tree and it was still dark in the part where she was hiding.
“Why do you care if I’m with Lily? Were friends remember, if what you saw earlier and what we do that doesn’t fit in your eyes it was just an accident!”
“Why do you care on that slut. If yesterday were just talking that we need to fixed this and you want our relationship to get better, keep away with her.”
“What?” Nikki heard everything, “do you want to choose between to two of you?”
“Whatever is your plan, I don’t know, I don’t want her and I know that slut will be kick out from LC. She was slut and she’s the one who ruin our relationship, don’t you know that? Remember this if you will still with her, I will get revenge and including you!”
Nicki heard a few footsteps because of that dried-up leaf around her. The man followed suit and leaving Nicki out of her hiding place. She was at the gate when someone grabbed her shoulder because of the panic that she had almost lost balance.
“Sorry.”
Nikki stood up straight and faced who was it. The handsome young man who was also a player of a football team.
Her heart suddenly pounding inside her chest because she saw again the young man who was kissing with Chelsea. “Am I scared you?”
“Ah yes…no, I mean no,” Nikki said while her voice was trembling in nervous.
Her face slightly feel heat when the young man smile at her, “my name is Jake and you are?”
“Nikki, just Nikki.”
Jake repeated her name, “I don’t know that you were here. Are joining the LC?”
“Yes,” she answered while playing her finger behind her back because she was nervous talking to the handsome man.
“Oh my, I wish you could will you task and I think the task this year was difficult.”
Nikki smiled, “yes, I wish too.”
“Why do you want to join?” Nikki stopped for a while and suddenly her answer to the question faded. She needed to think because she might ashamed and then while Jake is waiting her answer, Jake answers his question for her, “to have friends?” She just nodded to say yes, “you can have a friend without joining to LC and you can be friends with me.”
“It’s nothing and I think they’re cool more than here in WU.”
Jake laughed a little, “are you new here in WU?”
“Yes, BS Literature is my course.”
“Whoa, I am third year college now as a medicine student.”
“Wow,” Nikki amazed.
“So, you don’t have friends here?”
She suddenly stop before she answer, “I think I have nothing friends here but I knew someone, it was Honey, she was living to the next door of the dorm.”
“So your living to the dorm…” Jake didn’t finish his sentence when someone of his team mate called him, “I’m going now.”
“Go on.”
“See you around, Nikki.”
Nicki just nodded and walked back to her dorm. She dressed immediately as she reached her room. It was also quiet all around because everyone was asleep. She even had to lie down on her bed and thinking about with Jake conversation earlier. “Jake,” she whispered his name. She felt something in her heart every time she saw the young man. Nor did he think it was so kind to talk to him. She also suddenly remembered that the young man had ties to Chelsea. She also thought that no one would know that she admired the young man.
She found herself standing in a room where she was facing an oblong-shaped mirror. The glass is very clean and she can see her own reflection there. The glass is attached to the wall, there are unique carvings there around the mirror and which is a unique design. The mirror also shines through the glass and the old fashioned design and only now does she see it.
She walked closer to it and to touch its edge. She could feel the durability of the glass work from the wood and its glass of six-crystal, ‘it’s beautiful,' she wondered because there was no voice in her mouth and it was as if she had just heard in her mind the message, what happened’ She did but still not.
All of a sudden, when she looked again in the mirror, she can’t saw her own reflection and change with different shadow. She was curious of what was happening on her right now, she felt scared and fear. Slowly she moved backward and she felt bad right now inside the familiar room.
It wears unusual clothing and thick cloth. Her eyes widened when the shadow on the mirror slowly moving and coming out from the mirror. Her retreat accelerated quickly and she leaned against the wall. Suddenly, someone grabbed her mouth and both hands. There was no creature in the mirror and the creature is holding her now. She screamed for help in her mind and shattered the glass in front of her.
Nicki's bed made her awake because of her dream. Her face was full of sweat dripping from his forehead. She could feel the vibrancy and speed of the throbbing heart. She touched her face with a bruise because of the broken glass mirror, "I thought it was true," she said to herself. But as she felt her dream was true the way the creature from the mirror touch her hands and mouth, and she was shaking from fear.
Nicki lay down again and forced to go back to sleep. But she could not, for fear that the creature might appear in her dream again. She just thinks that creature looks ugly and might the thought scared him even more. So she didn't fall asleep immediately.
