Chapter 12

Axel POV

After that f*****g incident where I met them, I went to Karter’s bar and meet my friends there. The loud music and the noise of the people who want to get wasted and partying welcome me when I enter the bar. I look for my friends and I saw them upstairs at the VIP lounge. Umakyat ako at nilapitan ko silang tatlo ‘don. Pagkalapit ko sa kanila kinuha ko kaagad ang isang baso ng alam sa lamesa at inimon ‘yon ng diretso sa harap nilang tatlo.

I’m serious when I said that I want to get wasted tonight, who the hell cares about the meeting tomorrow. I just want to forget and enjoy the night for a while.

“Sabi mo busy ka at madami kang ginagawa pero ikaw pa ung excited magpakalasing sa aming tatlo ah!” sabi ni Grant sa’kin and I didn’t bother to say anything.

 I sit down beside Caius who is drinking his beer while Karter and Grant are looking at me with their woman beside them.

“The unit is all good, tomorrow the housekeeper will go there to cook your food for breakfast and dinner then for every other day the housekeeper will clean the unit for you,” sabi sa akin ni Caius.

“I will wire you the payment tomorrow,” sabi ko sa kan’ya.

“I did not bother to buy the groceries for this week because I’m not the one who will be using that unit and I will make some changes for the list that I gave to my secretary because we have a different preference in when it comes to food, so tomorrow don’t complain with what food you will have in the table and do the grocery shopping dahil puro beer lang ang meron sa ref ko na iniwan ko na para sa’yo,” sabi n’ya sa akin at inumom ang hawak n’yang beer.

“Do it for me, I will pay you” sabi ko sa kan’ya.

“Hindi mo ako utusan Axel!” sabi n’ya sa’kin at tiningnan ako ng masama.

 “Just this once, paniguradong wala na akong oras para ganun ang bagay na ‘yon or might as well ask the housekeeper to do it for me. Ikaw naman ang may kontak sa kan’ya,” sabi ko sa kan’ya at nagsalin ng alak sa baso ko saka ‘yon inimon ng diretso.

“You will meet her when she cleans the unit or maybe tomorrow if you wake up early,” sabi n’ya sa’kin pero umiling ako.

“I doubt that and I’m too busy to meet someone,” sabi ko sa kan’ya.

“Isali n’yo naman kami sa usapan n’yong dalawa!” sigaw ni Grant sa amin ni Caius.

The music is to loud that’s way he need to shout, and he is on the opposite side with Karter who is busy kissing the girl he barely known.

“Make them leave first!” sabi ni Caius kay Grant.

Napailing si Grant sa inasta ni Caius pero wala naman s’yang nagawa.

“Girls can you leave us for a while, but we promise to meet you later downstairs,” sabi ni Grant sa kasama n’ya pati na rin sa kasama ni Karter.

“See you,” sabi ng babae kay Grant at nakipaghalikan dito.

After that they left Karter and Grant look at Caius.

“Alam mo Caius nakakamatay ang pagiging tigang!” sabi ni Karter kay Caius kaya natawa ako.

“Wag kang tumawa dahil ikaw rin!” sabi sa akin ni Grant.

“Hindi ko kailangan ng babae sa buhay ko, I can survive without one!” sabi ni Caius sa kanila.

“Don’t start with me, hindi ako tigang at alam n’yo ‘yan” sabi ko sa kanila.

Caius is the one who send me the women who I slept with last time and after I never slept with anyone. I’m too busy to bang any women and I’m not interested with anyone right now. I used to sleep with someone when I’m still with Reah, I’m not a Saint and I have my needs, but I can survive without having a woman in my bed everyday not like Karter and Grant. Araw-araw ibang babae ang kasama nila sa kama.

“Mga KJ kasi kayo,” sabi ni Grant sa amin ni Caius.

“Kesa naman makakuha ng sakit sa ginagawa n’yo!” sabi ni Caius sa dalawa.

“We’re safe and always protected!” sabay na sabi ni Karter at Grant.

“Hindi na kami magugulat ni Axel kapag may nabuntis kayong dalawa sa ginagawa n’yo,” sabi ni Caius sa kanila.

“Caius you’re the one who send a woman to Axel hotel room baka siya ang magkakabuntis,” natatawang sabi ni Grant at tumingin sa akin.

“Wag n’yo akong itulad sa inyo!” sabi ko sa kanila at tiningnan sila ng masama.

Wala ako sa mood para makipagbiruan sa kanila ngayon dahil marami akong iniisip, muli akong nagsalin ng alak sa baso ko at ininom ‘yon ng isang inuman lang.

“Anong problema mo Axel?” tanong sa akin ni Karter kaya tiningnan ko s’ya.

“Being with my ex-girlfriend in the elevator together with her f*****g husband!” mariing sagot ko sa tanong n’ya.

“You better not proceed to your plan Axel kung nasasaktan ka lang,” sabi sa akin ni Caius.

“I will give them the pain they cause me” sabi ko sa kanila.

“Gago ka! Wag mong sirain ang sarili mo dahil lang sa kanila” sabi sa’kin ni Grant.

“Binabawi ko lang naman ang kung anong akin,” sabi ko sa kanila.

Hindi na sila nagsalita pa at nagpatuloy na lang kami sa pag inom ng alak hanggang sa napagdesisyonan ni Karter at Grant na bumaba para makisalamuha sa mga tao ‘don o sa madaling ay to get laid tonight.

I don’t have plan to do something wild, I just want to get wasted and forget what happened awhile ago. I just drown myself with all the liquor in front of me, Caius is busy with his phone and he don’t give a damn to what I’m up to tonight.

I want to wreck Gino’s neck earlier when I saw them and when he wrapped his arm to my woman, I know that he is just mocking me because Reah is with him pero hindi magtatagal ‘yon dahil gagawin ko ang lahat para mabawi sa kan’ya ang inagaw n’ya sa’kin.

“Go home Axel, lasing ka na!” sabi ni Caius sa’kin kaya tumingin ako sa kan’ya.

“I have a high alcohol tolerance Caius,” sabi ko sa kan’ya at ininom ko ang alak sa bote saka ‘yon inubos.

Tumayo para kunin ang alak sa lamesa pero hindi ko nakuha ‘yon dahil inilayo na ‘yon ni Caius sa akin kaya tiningnan ko siya ng masama.

“Caius don’t stop me!” mariing sabi ko sa kan’ya.

“Umayos ka ngang hayop ka!” sabi n’ya sa’kin at inalalayan ako.

After that I don’t know what happened, I just woke up in an unfamiliar room and my head is throbbing pain because of my f*****g hangover. I don’t know how many bottles of liquor I finish last night but I’m sure it’s a lot that’s why I’m like this.

I massage my temple and get off the bed and went to the bathroom to wash my face then I went outside. I smell food, that’s why I went to the dining area and I found something on the table covered with food cover so I lift it, there are fried food like bacon and egg with rice and a note on the side saying that the soup is on the stove and I should re-heat it.

Pumunta ako sa ref at kumuha ng tubig saka ‘yon ininom. I check the stove and found a the soup on the pot but I did bother to re-heat it because it’s still hot, I just put it in the bowl and went to the table and eat the food in front of me. I’m not a breakfast person but I think I need to eat because I did not bother to eat dinner last night and went straight to Karter’s bar to get wasted.

The food that the housekeeper prepare is simple, yet I find delicious especially the soup because my headache suddenly gone. After I finish the food and it was the first time, I went back to the refrigerator to get some water and Caius was right na puro beer lang ang laman ng ref n’ya. Pagkatapos kong uminom ng tubig nagsulat ako sa papel at ipinakat ko ‘yon sa pinto ng ref. It just a note regarding my food. I don’t want to have a heavy breakfast again for tomorrow and a side comment about the food she prepared because it’s to oily for the egg.

After that I went back to the bedroom and go inside the bathroom to take a bath. I need to go to work today to finalize the budget allotted to the new project that we are handling and to continue my undone meeting that was rescheduled today. I think I will go home late today because of my workload and that’s not a problem with me, wala naman nag iintay sa’kin at para naman ‘to sa mga plano ko.

Nang matapos ako inuha ko na ang gamit ko at lumabas ng unit, I ride the elevator and minutes later I’m inside my car driving it, going to work. When I arrive, my secretary is already waiting for me at the lobby.

“Sir you have an early meeting with the stockholders today and they are already at the conference room waiting for you,” sabi n’ya sa’kin at sinabayan ako sa paglalakad.

“What they want?” tanong ko sa kan’ya.

“Sir they are pressuring us to start the project as soon as possible,” sabi n’ya sa’kin.

They can’t wait for a few more days for that, the project is being finalize because of some minor issue about the land and by next week we could start it as soon as possible. I’m not wasting their money for nothing and if that project starts to operate it will bring us more profit than they expected but that project needs time and patience.

Dirediretso akong pumasok sa loob ng conference room paglabas ko ng elevator at lahat naman sila tumayo para batiin ako. The look on their faces is unbelievable, alam kong sa likod ng mga ngiti nila sa’kin sinasaksak nila ako patalikod. That’s the bad side of business, no one is trusted because of money.

“Sit down,” sabi ko sa kanila at umupo na rin ako sa pwesto ko.

“Mr. Davis, we need an update for the D Project,” sabi sa akin ng isang stockholder and he is Mr. Salcedo.

He talk too much but prove nothing, because of his money that’s why he stay being my stockholder but aside from that he is useless, he used to be working with the De Leon but when the DL corp. merge with the Hernandez he left the company because of the rivalry between him and Mr. Hernandez.

“The project will push through so don’t get impatient with that because I can assure you that the money you all put in that project will be pay off,” sabi ko sa kanila.

“We just want to make sure that you are doing your job as the CEO of this company Mr. Davis and not just playing around, we all have a family to support, even your employees so we expect a lot from you. Don’t get me wrong Axel but you are a bachelor and you should take things seriously!” sabi sa akin ni Mr. Romero.

I’m not fooling around like a child. I’m know what I’m doing, and I take things seriously. Hindi ko itinayo ang kompanya na ‘to para maglaro lang at para pakitaan ang ama ko. I build this company because this is my dream and I will make sure that this company will grow. They are mocking me because I’m a bachelor and the hell I care, I wouldn’t be bachelor if that f*****g Gino stole my girl away from me but I will get her back and prove everyone what I am capable of. I’m not Axel Fire Davis for nothing.
