LARKIN’S POV Despite feeling weak, I forced myself to stand up. I removed the metal tube from my back, near my shoulder. I managed to switch positions with Emily just as Conrad was about to stab her. I wasn't hurt too badly, as I was able to push Conrad off balance, causing him to miss his target. He still managed to hit me with the metal tube, but not as hard. It was as if I had been blasted by a bomb when I saw Emily transform into a werewolf. How did this happen? Surely, she hadn’t contracted it from the claw I inserted in her nape.
