Nick watched her walk to his car, seemingly uncaring about her wounds. It was very odd. She hadn’t wanted pain relief, but she had to be in pain, surely. She didn’t complain about it, hadn’t really said anything about pain at all, just appeared concerned that she was going to be scarred for life.
