ELIK
It was almost four in the morning when we reached the Palace. All of the crew I had with me—my assistants, the military escorts, the pilots, and Logan, were without sleep and utterly exhausted by the time we arrived. I dismissed them right away, telling them I could manage on my own.
I was thankful that Klaudria’s welfare was out of the way. She was with me, safe, and would just recuperate.
I let the palace doctor take a look at her injuries and was delighted to know that the bruises and cuts were superficial and would heal soon.
I was able to take an hour's sleep while sitting in a chair next to Klaud’s bed, refusing to leave her side even for a second despite assurance by the doctor and the clinic staff that they would take care of her.
