The only thought that clouded my mind was the strange behaviour of West and his cousins.
For half of the year they had been here, never once did they mind my existence but this time around when I finally made it back to school still limping, they looked at me like I was a rabid dog that would pounce on them at anytime and shred them to pieces.
With the free period ahead, I made my way to the library when I heard a hypnotic voice reach my ears around the turn making me stop and look at the now supposed to be the new door of the auditorium by the pointed curve. I stopped by the door and eavesdropped unintentionally. I swear, it was only out of curiosity and the uncanny attraction to the voice.
"I don't give a crap about her and hope you do too. Can't have all our attentions getting distracted by one girl when we need to focus on..." He trailed off and the next thing I know was the door fly open and a hand grabbed my wrist, the tingling I felt, the feeling of completion of my soul to my entire being but it was soon gone when I was haparzardly pushed against the wall, struggling to keep myself up with these despicable crutches while I was surrounded by four inhumanely handsome guys in the entire school, perhaps even the town.
Dylan had a scowl on his face as he crossed his hands across the chest while Kai gave me a bored look before clicking away on the mobile screen. The dim lighting in the room didn't do any justice to their looks. The hazel curls of Dylan's look darker and light from the spot lights at the distance bounced off his amber eyes making them look orange like that of a wolf's. His bulging muscles indicated his hardwork was showing results. Among the four men, he seemed to be the only one on the buffer side but not like the healthy wrestlers though. With an aquiline nose, heavy lower lip and perfect eyebrows, he looked at me with a pair of narrowed eyes.
Kai's violet eyes reflected the colors that the mobile light changed. His thinner red eyebrows looked well maintained, so did his plump round lips. His greek nose just added to his exotic beauty. He was the leanest amongst his group and came a inch or two shorter to Dylan but still he sure was nearly six feet.
The third one was the dirty blond guy from Mr. Stanley's class. His blue eyes looked like a violent ocean that was raging in the afternoon. His off-white v-neck tee hugged him like a second skin giving him the look of a beachside model for those commercials, his button nose made him look more on the cuter side than the former two. If I overlooked his grumpiness and death stare. I hadn't caught his name yet, missed his roll call since I was more occupied with the last of them. The mysterious handsome that had evaded my sight till now. And I sure did feel me heart come to a stop when my eyes flickered towards him. His golden blond hair seemed like a halo, his molten silver darkened upon our eye contact.
He was lean like a swimmer, tall like a model and exuded a mysterious aura. A sense of deja vu rushed through, like something was very familiar about him albeit I had never seen him before. It was intriguing, with shocks zapping through my body with excitement and amusement. For the moment everything disappeared and only we both remained in the existence. Time seemed to have slowed down as we stared at each other. I could feel something between us, there sure was a connection there but then again this handsome stranger didn't share the same thoughts.
His dimples were on display but not because of a smile rather due to pursing his lips in an attempt to hide a grimace. His jaws set in a rigid outline showing off his perfect jawline, his ski-slope nose perfected his overall look even when he looked quite displeased, after his visible cheekbones. Vann Zervos was a sight to behold.
He leaned in making my throat go dry as he spoke in his hypnotic voice, "what were you doing outside? Eavesdropping over other's private conversations?"
I blinked once, then twice. Did he just accuse me of eavesdropping? Well, I sure was eavesdropping, making my cheeks flare red, yeah elmo, I might even beat you in the redness department.
"N-no, I didn't mean to, I was just wondering-" when Van gave that sarcastic smile, my voice died inside my throat.
"What? Was wondering if you could get some important information that could help you in anyway with any of us?" The nameless guy in the group, or perhaps I should be telling it like this 'the dirty blond guy whose name I had no idea about' jeered at me. My heart felt pinched at the words. I could feel the onslaught of words that would be thrown my way unjustly making me squeeze my eyes shut in anticipation.
"Orwell," I opened my eyes to see Vann warn the dirty blond as he looked over his shoulder.
The dirty blond sure had a sharp tongue. Even my granny wouldn't be this critical when she disses someone.
Nonetheless, Orwell stopped with his verbal attacks, even if he had plans to lecture my further for an hour or two.
"Get out, and don't ever try to get close to us," Vann turned to look into my eyes as he said that. His molten silvers solidified for a second before swirling again.
If I admitted it honestly, it truly broke my heart to hear that. But I had a dignity of my own to maintain. And I was not going to let it get crushed under these inhumane beings and their inhumane attitudes.
I sniffled in whatever emotions that were on display and the tears that were threatening to leak out.
Instead, I gave a small snort, "like I'm dying to hang out with you douche bags."
With that said, I grabbed my crutches and hobbled out with as much dignity as I could. Making sure to keep my back and chin straight and get out of there as fast as my plastered leg could carry me out.
