As expected, Fiona asked me to accompany her to Gavin’s party. It wouldn’t be wise to comply with Marcus's demands, and I nearly declined Fiona’s invitation after her third attempt to persuade me. However, I felt guilty about potentially letting her down. Even if I refused this time, Marcus would find another way to manipulate her.
This would be my first and final attempt to show Fiona that Marcus and Ariella weren't the people she believed them to be. So, I agreed to go with her to the party on Saturday.
As I was leaving the school building on Friday, Fiona approached me excitedly, "So, we're on for tomorrow, right?"
