"I'm sorry--"
Damien immediately apologized when he saw the displeasure and rage in Samira's eyes.
He cupped her face with his hands and made her look into his eyes. He breathed heavily when Samira removed his hands and walked a few steps away from him, placing a safe distance between them.
"Okay!" Damien shook his head, "I know you are disappointed, but-- Can you listen to my explanation?"
Damien gently persuaded her. Skirting around the cause of her disappointment and annoyance was not his intention. He would tell her everything if she was willing to listen.
Sadly, Samira was not ready for any form of explanation, feeling played around and cheated. At the back of her mind, something shady was forming--her escape, her way out of the engagement, her freedom.
