Chapter Ten.

Third Person P.O.V

Word of the battle between the Blue Moon pack alphas and Lorenzo Lopez’s grandson has reached the elders and right now a discussion is brewing.

“This is unacceptable elders!” Says elder Mark, to be frank he has always had a personal vendetta against the Blue Moon pack, more so with Alpha Sebastian but now it looks like his hatred has passed down to his sons. Elder Ken silences him.

“You will not raise your voice at us Mark.” He warns.

“There is no need to bicker, peace is needed when discussing such matters.” Elder Dominique explains and everyone goes silent. No matter how powerful an Alpha can be or how large his pack can grow, every Alpha, if ever wrong, must answer to the elders. The elders are like the CEOs of the wolf community and they have the final say. How does this power pyramid run? Let me explain it to you.

At the top of the pyramid you have the head elders, which consist of elders Dominique, Ken, Logan and Levi. The second level consists of the second in command, elders Danial, Mateo, Mark, Wyatt, Carter, Theo and Samuel, in total these eleven elders run the whole community and decide on the rules to follow. The third and last level of the pyramid consists of every Alpha of every pack but among those alphas there is one Alpha who is chosen by the elders as a chess piece, to be the leader of all the alphas. This Alpha is Sebastian Jacobs, Alpha of the Blue Moon pack.

“Though over exaggerated, Mark does have a point Dominique, a peace treaty was created and although Lorenzo’s boy was wrong we cannot dispute the fact that Ares and Thanatos broke it by killing him.” Ken shares his view on the matter.

“Thane was the one who killed him.” Levi corrects. “And let’s not forget that Ares could have killed his second in command, Aiden but he did not.”

“Ares has a personal vendetta against Lorenzo’s boy.” Because Mark can see how the elders are only putting the blame on one twin, he brings this forward in hopes that it’ll create more damage in the matter.

“Which is?” Dominique questions and everyone turns to him.

“It seems that Ares and Amber, a young witch under the Nile, have formed a bond outside of their mates. Mike struck the girl during an altercation and Ares nearly killed him. From my point of view the boys came to an agreement to kill him and did. It was murder.” Mike is smiling internationally as he perfectly lays down his motives. Samuel is never one to speak but when he sees something he doesn’t like he’s quick to address it.

“Adding fuel to the fire are we Mark?” This comment catches the top elders’ attention.

“Why do you say that Samuel?” He may not be one of the top elders but his word hold power to them.

“Is this not simple enough? It is very clear to me that Mike, like Mark, had his own personal vendetta against the Jacobs twins and tried, with every chance he got, to pick a fight with them. Every male wolf knows that once an Alpha is involved with a she wolf, be it mate or not, that wolf is off limits and how dare a male wolf strike a woman?” Samuel says through gritted teeth and the elders start to hum in agreement. “Like his father, Thanatos is hard to handle yet he was the one who stopped his brother from killing Mike that day, in fact he commanded him to stop. Had Mike yielded to Thanatos at the battle he would still be alive.” If looks could kill, Mark’s glare towards Samuel would have slit his throat. After a further discussion a decision is made by the top elders.

Sebastian’s P.O.V

“Sebastian.” I see Jakes serious face and furrow my eyebrows. “This came for us.” He says putting down a red envelope with a gold stamp on it. I sigh. This is a letter from the elders, which means a decision has been made. Mind linking Thane I tell him to come to the house immediately. “This isn’t looking good already.” Jake says. He’s right.

“I know.”

Thane’s P.O.V

“Now if you add these particles together, the formula-”

“Thane come home now.” My father mind links me and I pack up everything immediately.

“Where are you going?” Ares asks.

“Something just came up that needs my attention, I’ll be back.” He nods then continues to take notes, Olivia and Noah get up but I order them to stay. If Ares sees the three of us leave he’ll definitely know something’s up. Getting into my car I race to my parents house, getting there I head to my father’s office and find uncle Jake there as well. Handing me the red envelope, my fathers eyes tell me everything I need to know. This is from the elders. I open it, reading.

Alpha Thanatos of the Blue Moon Pack

You are hereby summoned to appear in front of the elders and answer for your crime of breaking the peace treaty, by killing Mikel Lopez. A decision will be reached on how you will pay for your crime.

The Elders.

I hand it to my father when I’m done, he scans over it then puts it on the table.

“You need to leave today, this will probably take place the next day. I’ll tell your brother you were needed in Alaska.”

“Okay.” Setting the letter on fire I watch it burn to ashes. Heading home I quickly pack my bags and throw them in the car. On my way to the airport I call them and tell them to get the jet and pilot ready for my flight to Italy.

“Alpha Thanatos, this way please.” One of the flight attendants says, loading my bags into the plane. Taking off I settle into my seat. I know it wasn’t the smartest move to go by myself since I just lost my powers and am still training but Olivia and Noah need to fill my gap. Finally arriving I find a car waiting for me when we land and it takes me to the palace. I’m greeted by Willow as she jumps on me and wraps her arms around my body while I just stand there.

“NiNi! It’s so good to see you.” She says excitedly then giggles when she sees my face, I hate when she calls me that. “I see you haven’t changed one bit.” She referred to my irritated expression. “Come in, I’ll show you to your room.” Willow is the daughter of Elder Levi and one of their missionaries. We all grew up together but when she turned thirteen she had to move here to start training for her position as a missionary so I haven’t seen her since. She’s like a new sword, beautiful and shiny to look at but as deadly as poison. Taking me to my room, I put my bag down and unbutton my suit.

“Breakfast will be ready in five then you and I can go out and-”

“How long will this take Willow?” She sighs.

“Why did I think you’d actually want to spend time with me? You really haven’t changed have you Thanatos.” Now she’s a missionary. I stare her down. “The meeting will commence a little later after breakfast but until then you can choose to spend your time however you wish. I suggest you get comfortable because you’ll be here for at least three days.” Walking past her I start making my way to the locksmiths office. “NiNi.” She calls out to me and I turn to her.

“Mm?”

“It’s good to see you again.” She’s killing me with those longing eyes. I make my way to her and kiss her forehead then look into her eyes.

“It’s good to see you too Willow.” And the biggest smile plasters itself onto her face.
