Begging In Silence

Chapter Twelve.

Thane's P.O.V

"They're ready for you Thanatos." Ross informs me and I make my way to the throne room, here goes.

Ares's P.O.V

I have been feeling uneasy ever since Thane left, father says he was needed in Alaska but I don't buy it. He left school and said he'd be back but when I came home he was nowhere to be found, he didn't take Olivia and Noah with him either which means that this isn't a pack problem, it's a him problem.

"Alpha you wanted to see me?" Olivia snaps me out of my train of thought. Nodding I gesture for her to take a seat.

"Do you know where Thane is?" She shakes her head. "Am I right to assume that the reason he left without saying anything is because this is a personal matter?" She hesitates. "Don't make me use my Alpha tone with you Olivia." My voice turns stern and she sighs.

"I don't know why he left or if he did go to Alaska but what I do know is that, yes, this is more personal related than pack related and I can only say that because he chose to leave Noah and I behind." She's not giving me anything.

"You can leave." Why can't I shake the feeling that he's hiding something from me? And if he is why? Heading home in a quick pace I start packing my bags and call the pilot to have the plane ready for me.

"Where are you going?"

"Alaska." I say bluntly not looking at him. "If you have something to say then say it."

"I'm coming with you."

"No you're not Jason, I need you and Noah to stay here with Olivia and Lucas. If you go with me then there won't be any balance."

"Ares-" I glare at him.

"My decision is final." I command and I can see him grinding his teeth in annoyance, he may not like my decision but I know he'd never question it. I sigh. "This is my mess and one way or another I have to fix it." He doesn't say anything instead just leaves. Walking out I get into the car and head to the airport. Let's see what you're up to Thane.

Thane's P.O.V

"We, as the elders, have collected and evaluated all the evidence brought before us regarding the incident that took place between Mikel Lopez and Thanatos Jacobs. Thanatos, you broke the peace treaty and with that the trust the other packs had in the Bluemoon pack..." At the corner of my eye I see Mark smirk, I guess it's been decided. "But." But? I look at elder Dominique and so does everyone else.

"But?" I ask.

"But, we see this for what it really is, a case of high provocation. You may have killed him but after this hearing we, as the elders, have come to realise that if it hadn't been for Mikel attacking your pack that day, he would still be alive. Furthermore we are going to conduct an investigation of how the Lopez family found refuge within the Shadow Rock pack and-"

"Is there really a need for that? You have already cleared the boy from his criminal act." He says the last part through gritted teeth.

"Be quiet Mark!" Elder Levi intervenes. The room goes silent, standing up he starts making his way to Mark, his wolf scratching to come out.

"Levi don't." Just when elder Logan says this a loud clapping sound echoes throughout the room as he slaps Mark across the face, throwing him across the room. We wolves have power, a great deal too, even more so when you're a god like my father or Ares and I. But, there's a greater power you tap into when you are appointed to be an elder. A power that surpasses a god, which is why a simple slap can send someone ,even as strong as Mark, flying across the room. Teleporting to where he is, Levi picks him up by the neck and bashes him into the wall, releasing his power through his hands he aims it at Mark's head, he might just kill him.

"That's enough Levi." Elder Dominique says putting his hand on Levi's shoulder. "Do not let your anger get the best of you. This is not how a head elder behaves." Releasing a breath, he calms down and let's Mark go, walking away. Turning to Mark, Dominique's face changes. "As for you Mark, mark my words, you might just live to regret this." He makes his way to me and hugs me. "Molto deve ancora venire, preparati giovane Thanatos." Looking at him, he offers me a small smile then announces that the meeting has ended. As everyone leaves I feel someone pulling me and see it's Willow. Following her she leads me to a secret room and there I find Adrian waiting for me.

"What is this?" I ask looking at Willow.

"Calm down."

"I am calm."

"He is calm." Adrian and I say it at the same time, looking at each other.

"There is something Adrian would like to tell you." I raise my eyebrow, looking at him.

"There is something off about everything that is going on here."

"What do you mean?"

"Take the Lopez family for instance, yes in the throne room I said my father is the one who took them in but when I asked my dad he said he knew nothing about it and said that if he had known they were residing within our pack he would have killed them. Then there's Mike, we all know that Mike was a lot of things but he was no fool, he knew his actions would get him killed eventually if he didn't give in to you but he carried on anyways, to a point where he put his hands on a she wolf, something forbidden in the wolf world. Why would he do all of that? To die in the end? And for who exactly, his grandfather? Because he wasn't that bright so someone must have been pulling the strings." He's right, I knew from the beginning that Mike was up to something.

"So you think that there is someone working against my pack from behind the scenes?"

"Yes." Willow says. "And I think you already have an idea of who it could be."

"I'm not sure."

"Oh please Thane, when are you ever wrong?"

"I can be wrong at times Willow, I don't know everything." She rolls her eyes at me.

"Bullshit, you have never made a bad move in your life and you know it. You even killed Mike for Ares." She says looking into my eyes and I release a low growl.

"What did you say?" I use my Alpha voice.

"Thane don't." Adrian starts making his way to us and I glare at him, making him stop.

"He won't hurt me, will you Thanatos."

"Don't ever utter those words to me ever again."

"You're forgetting that I know you, grew up with you and even though I may not know exactly how you think or operate, I do know a small percentage. Mark is an asshole yes, but he was right about one thing, you handled Mike on that battlefield on purpose because you knew, deep down, that there might be a possibility that Mike was going to die there. Tell me I'm wrong." s**t, she irritates me.

"Willow-"

"You were doing it for Ares, I get it." She looks at Adrian. "We get it and just like you protected him, let us protect you." I sigh. "Let us or we'll do it without you." And that she will. Well, here goes.

"Fine but we do this my way."

"Okay." They say in union.
