CHAPTER 22 Pursuing Marnie

Doctor Michael went to Marnie's place when he reached Marinduque Island. His secretary booked him in a hotel there already and rented a car for his service for his period of stay there.

He drove at the address being given to him by Marnie's father. Mr. Castello already talked to Marnie's aunt over the phone about Marnie and Doctor Michael. He gave his blessing to Michael to pursue Marnie and he advised Marnie's aunt to let Michael do his thing to Marnie.

His daughter needed someone like Doctor Michael. He and her sibling spoiled her a lot and she won't easily listen to them. It will only Doctor Michael whom he knew could tame and match Marnie's attitude and behavior.

Doctor Michael, knocked on the door and Marnie' Aunt opened the door. She knew already of his arrival.

"Hi Doctor, I was informed by Marnie's Dad on your arrival here. Please come in and have a seat. I'll call Marnie from her room," she politely greeted and invited Doctor Michael inside their house...

"Thank you," Doctor Michael said. He was so grateful for how kind Mr. Castello was and how he was endorsed to his cousin. He longed for Marnie already.

Knock! Knock!

"Come in," Marnie said. She knew it's her aunt.

"Someone's waiting for you downstairs," she said.

"Who as it?" she asked. 

Her Aunt didn't answer but instead turned her back and continue to go downstairs.

Marnie was wondering. "Who should it be? I was talking to Dad awhile ago and he's with Mom in our home," she asked herself. She doesn't have any ideas about who will be her visitor here in Marinduque.

She was so shocked, seeing Doctor Michael in front of her when she went down. She controlled herself to throw herself to him and hugged him tightly. "Why are you here?" she asked seriously.

"I am here to explain everything to you. You blocked me on your we chat and I can't reach you," he said. He approached her as he wanted to hug her but Marnie refused his hand and told him," You don't need to explain anything. I understand. Please spare me and respect my silence. I want to be alone," she said with hurtful feelings.

Doctor Michael was frozen. He expected this and he wasn't ready to hear it straight from Marnie's mouth. He felt pain in his heart. He doesn't mind the tiredness he encountered going here at Marinduque, but the words that came from Marnie's mouth seemed to pull him with so much exhaustion and pain. He felt the tiredness now all over his body. He can't help but look at Marnie painfully.

"Don't you want to hear my explanation first?" he asked Marnie. He wanted to talk to her right now but it seemed that she doesn't even want to see nor listen to him. " I love you so much Marns," he said emotionally.

"I want to rest," Marnie turned her back and went upstairs. She cried while she was heading back to her room.

Doctor Michael was left behind. 

He decided to go to his hotel and rest for now. It might not be the right time. He will just come back tomorrow. He waved good to Marnie's aunt already before he left.

Marnie can't help but think about Doctor Michael when she was about to sleep. Why is it that she felt so hurt when she saw the pain in his eyes after she told him that she doesn't love him? She doesn't want to throw him those words but that's the only thing she can do to avoid him.

Even if she loves him so much, she doesn't want to ruin his engagement with Doctor Garcia. They were matched together by their parents. How can she be compared with a woman like Doctor Garcia? She was just an ordinary provincial girl and much younger than Doctor Co. His parents might look down upon her either.

She went to Marinduque to be at peace and to forget him. But why is it he's here? He was always in their veranda every time she woke up. He was having coffee with her Auntie Rose. Her auntie was already fond of Doctor Michael. There were times Marnie doesn't want to go out of her room to avoid him. 

Until she decided to approach him ."Why are you still pursuing me?" she asked him.

"Do you need to ask me that?" Doctor Michael replied. "Isn't it obvious that I love you so much and I want to marry you," he said directly to her?

Marnie was shocked. She thought that he was going to pursue him only but did she hear it right? He wanted to marry her.

"Can you repeat what you have said?" she wanted to validate what she heard. She wanted to be clear.

Doctor Michael smiled at her and slowly approached her. He hold her small beautiful face with his two big palms and looked at her eyes directly while saying," I said ,isn't it obvious that I love you so much that I wanted to marry you already? he pecked her lips after he said those words. Marnie was frozen and closed her eyes when she felt the softness of his lips on her lips.

Doctor Michael was so fascinated by this young lady as he was staring at her after he gave her a kiss. She was still frozen and closed her eyes. He can't helped but to give her another kiss. This time it was a bit intense as he slowly parted her lips and deepened his kiss.

MArnie almost lost her balance when she felt the movement of his lips over her lips.

Doctor Michael held her waist and his other hand hold the back of her head to support her. He stopped when he felt that MArnie was about to loose her breathe already.

"I love you Marns," he whispered on her ear making  Marnie gigles. She can't control her feelings anymore. She really loves Doctor Michael. Her feelings betrayed her and she said," I love you too Michael."

Doctor Michael was so happy after he heard her response.

He hugged her so tight and kissed her forehead," Thank you Marns. I love you so much and you will be the only one whom I wanted to give my name on, Mrs. Marnie Co," he said sincerely.

Marnie can't helped but cried. "Hey, why are you crying?" Doctor Michael got confused when he saw the tears falling down on MArnie's cheeks.

"It was just tears of joy. I just can't believe that you love me for real," she said emotionally.

"Of course, I love you Marns. I felt this since the very day I've set my eyes on you. Remember the first day of your work as a Medrep? We were almost on the same position as we were now. I've held you like this?" he wanted her to recall the first time they've met.

"Oh, you still recall it?" she was amazed knowing how detailed Doctor Michael's memory was.

"Yes, every single details of it. How your heels broke and everything," he smiled at her and kissed her lips once more.

Marnie can't deny her true feelings anymore as her heart melted with him already.

"I'm speechless," she said.

Doctor Michael stayed there for another 3 hours and they've joined Marnie's Aunt for a dinner. They were so happy after Doctor Michael explained everything to her. MArnie felt guilty knowing how hard Michael tried to reach here before but she blocked his number and even went to Marinduque to get rid of him.

They've settled everything and will start a brand new relationship as they reconnected once again.
