Chapter Six: Agreements

Dylan
I shivered as the scene played in front of me. Justin stands in the club that we drank at the last week. He watched as we drank and danced, and I felt a little awkward as he watched me dance with Niky. I watched as Meg suddenly collapsed on the table. Her soul left her body, and she looked up at Justin I watched as she made her way to him.
“Hello Meghan.” Justin grinned. “Long time no see.”
“Jaden.” Meg growled. “What are you doing here?”
Justin’s eyes widened and he looked offended. “Jaden?”
Meg gasped. “It’s not possible.”
“Of course it is.” He laughed.
“No!” Meg screeched. “How could you be alive and not tell Niky.”
He took a step back. “Meg-“
“No Justin.” She growled eyes flashing. “Don’t say another word. This is a special kind of betrayal.”
She turned to walk away, but he stopped her. “Meg stop.” He pinned her to the wall, and she gaped at him. “I am not alive.”
“Bullshit.” She tried to push him off.
“Meghan you are astral projecting. I am not actually here with you at the club, I died two years ago, and I am still dead.” Justin said softly. I could see the pain in his eyes.
My heart clenched painfully. I heard a soft whimper and turned to see Niky tucked into Justin’s chest.
“Why me?” Meg asked.
“You are the fourth.” Justin shrugs.
“I know.” She snapped. “But what is the point if you aren’t here?”
“Meg I can come back.” Justin grins. “But there is just one tiny problem.”
“What is that.” She asks as he steps back.
“You must accept that you are the fourth Trybrid. Then and only then can I come home.” He stares at her.
“I figure that it’s not as easy as saying I accept that I am the fourth?” Meg scoffs.
“Yeah.” He rubs the back of his neck. “You need to be turned.”
“Dylan will never go for that.” Meg points out.
“I know, that’s why I will get to come back for forty-eight hours. If I can convince Dylan to turn you, then I get to stay forever.” Justin’s eyes sparkle with hope.
“Justin I-“ Meg stops.
“Take some time to think about it, but I need your answer by the end of the week.” He tells her. He turns to leave but stops. “Tell no one.”
The scene changed again, and I blinked. The lighting was very different. We watched as Justin collected the soul of the kid that Skye got the heart from. Niky sobbed as she realized that he had been watching us. I almost laughed when I saw that he had gotten my message. We watched as he took the kid over to the other side and dropped him at one of the desks. Then he entered an elevator. Ambrielle was sitting at the desk when he entered. Selene, Jaden, and Clotho were also there.
“Hi Ambrielle.” Justin said as he sat down. “So, what’s the plan.”
“It’s time Justin.” Ambrielle told him. “Are you ready to go home?”
“Yeah of course I am.” He chuckled.
“Don’t forget Justin that you will only get forty-eight hours.” Jaden cut in. “You need to start Meg’s transformation, or you will be forced back here forever.”
“He will do it.” Clotho laughed. “No matter what it takes to get back to his mate, even if he has to force her.”
I shivered at her certainty. “I will do what needs to be done, but I need to be sure you won’t go back on your word.” He glared at Clotho.
“That is why I have a legally binding contract.” Clotho grins.
“I read it.” Jaden tells him. “It says that if you don’t start Meg’s change in the next two days then you will have to return to the afterlife. If you do, then you will be granted your life back. Permanently.”
Justin nodded. “May I have a copy of it, so that I can have my brother look it over?”
“Your brother did look it over.” Clotho snarled.
“No, he means our little brother who is a lawyer.” Jaden snorted. “Yeah Jay I will make sure that he gets a copy of it before you land back on Earth. With that Jaden disappeared. That must have been when Jaden showed up in my room, he scared the hell out of me.
“Are you ready?” Selene grins.
“I am.” Justin laughed. I’m a bit nervous though.”
“Why?’ Ambrielle quirked an eyebrow.
“What if Meg backs out.” He sighs.
“She won’t.” Clotho snarled. “My sisters and I have seen it.”
“Don’t worry Justin everything will work out.” Selene said softly.
“We will call you when it’s time.” Clotho shooed Justin out of the room. “Go!”
We watched as Justin went back to the cabin that him and Jaden stayed in. Justin was staring into a well when Jaden showed back up.
“Dylan looked it over. Both Meg and Dylan have agreed to the terms and have signed it, now you need to as well, and we can get you home.” Jaden frowned. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing I- just got used to the way we live.” I sigh. “Going back is going to be a real adjustment.”
“Well I have faith that you can do it.” Jaden told him.
The scene changed again. We were back in Ambrielle’s office.
“It’s time Justin.” Ambrielle smiled.
“Thank the Gods.” Clotho grumbled.
“Some changes have been made.” Ambrielle continued. “When you go back, you will still have two days to change Meg. Once you have completed the change, you will be restored fully to life. To add to that, all four of you will receive nine lives.”
Justin nods in agreement. “Anything else?”
“No, that is it.” Ambrielle laughed. “As always it’s been a pleasure, and we will see you soon.” Selene and Ambrielle pointed their fingers at him.
The scene ended and we were back in the hospital, staring at Justin in shock. Claire was the first to let loose a string of curses. “This is horrible how could you agree to this?”
“I didn’t have a choice. What Clotho wants, she gets.” Justin’s eyes dropped to the floor.
“Don’t attack Justin.” Meg interrupted my Mom. “Dylan and I have agreed to the terms already.”
I nodded. “We know that is seems bad, but I would do anything to have my brother back, and Meg agrees with me.”
Justin opened his mouth, but Meg stopped him. “Justin it’s time for you to come home. I can sacrifice this much.”
“So, when do we want to do this?” I asked.
“After we know that Skye is out of surgery.” Meg told me. “I don’t want to die until I know that my niece is alive and well.”
Niky snorted and then coughed to cover it up. “Sorry, I had a tickle in my throat.”
“Sure.” Amber laughed.
We all sat back down, and then proceeded to catch Jusitn up on everything. After another hour Chloe came out. “She did really well and is in recovery now.”
We cheered, and Chloe cut us off. “I have the room ready for Meghan so we can do this now before Skye wakes up. Only Dylan, Niky, and Justin will be allowed in though.”
I heard an audible gulp and turned to see Justin shifting nervously around. “You’ve got this Justin.” Daniel clapped him on the shoulder.
Justin, Niky, Meg, and I followed Chloe down the hall. Everyone was shouting their well wishes at us. We got to the room, and I started to panic. “Relax Dylan.” Meg touched my arm. “I will come back, it’s been foretold by the Fates.”
“I know.” I sighed and pulled her into a kiss.
“Alright Meg.” Justin cleared his throat. “You know the drill. I will feed you some of my blood then I will snap your neck. The Gods will take it from there.”
“I’m ready.” Meg nodded.
Justin slit his wrist, and Meg latched on. After about a minute she stepped back and his wrist healed. “I’m sorry for this.” Justin whispered, then with a quick flick of his hands, he snapped her neck. Meg’s body dropped, but Justin caught her.
I stepped back because my wolf started howling in my head for Justin’s blood. Justin suddenly dropped to his knees and disappeared.
“Justin!” Niky and I screamed.
