*Nicolina’s POV*
I stand in front of the mirror, making sure I look okay since today we say goodbye to mum, and all eyes will be on my dad and me.
So I want to make sure I look okay. I look at
Joel, who is sitting on the bed watching me
“Do you reckon I should change?” I ask, turning to him
Joel stands up and takes me. into his arms
“You look beautiful, Nic. I don't think you should change.”
I lean back into him and enjoy his touch
I close my eyes and remember that he will always be here for me and how lucky I am.
Then we hear a knock at the door. Joel turns us both, and I chuckle
“Hey, Lissa,” I say as I begin to untangle myself from Joel's embrace
She comes up and swats Joel away from me
“Let me see Nic!” I stand back and do a twirl for Lissa, and she nods
