Kenna’s question about Merellien’s relationship with Ember has me feeling uneasy. I know if a man like Eldarion claimed Kenna or possibly any of the dragons, he would most likely force them into intimacy. I’ve watched the way he’s coveted Kenna. It disgusts me to think that an elf would abuse their power that way. It’s so very ... human. Elves are supposed to be above that, but power does things to people. It can turn them into something ugly and terrible, and it seems that the elves are no longer above that.
I have to consider that she’s right and if she is, then I need to make sure that I do everything in my power to keep the dragons who have been forced into claims safe.
