SARAH'S POV
Dinner is served, everyone sits in their designated seats. Daddy takes his seat ahead of the table showing his full authority to this family while mom sits to his left, followed by me, Michelle, and her fiance Richard, to his right are Andrew and Therese.
The dining area was filled with the delicious smell of food that our mom prepared. Most of them are Therese's favorites like garlic buttered shrimp and spicy chili crab. Michelle helped her out while I made the mango tiramisu for dessert.
"Here I'm sure you missed this," the smiling Andrew said while putting some shrimps on Therese's plate.
"Yeah so much, thank you." She sweetly said, smiling back at him.
"How is it dear?" Mom asked, smiling waiting for her response after savoring a shrimp.
"Oh my God. I really missed this, aunt Elena, how I wish I can cook well as you." She commented, munching after another one.
"You will be for sure." Mom replied, smiling sweetly.
I saw how Andrew looks at Therese, his eyes are sparkling like there's a sudden firework that wants to burst out. I diverted my gaze to my plate before anyone notices my discomfort, I mean jealous? Having these lovebirds in front of me, not to mention the other couple beside me, giggling.
'Ugh! So annoying.' I thought.
'You really need to go on a date with Damian very soon, loser. It's time to move on.' my inner self also suggests.
"How's your exam by the way sweetheart?" Dad asked, waking me up from my thoughts.
"Easy as pie Dad," I spoke confidently looking up to him smiling.
"Good." He responded shortly.
"Have you thought about your plan of having your own business after your graduation?" Mom also asked.
"Hmm... Not yet mom, I just don't feel so certain about it yet. You know, I mean I don't have the experience of handling business and such, maybe I'll apply somewhere first to establish my capability and confidence," I mumbled, trying to convince them.
Though I don't plan to be dependent forever, of course, I just don't have the courage. I'm just so weak. I sighed.
"Don't be so worried, you have your family, we will support you in every way, Sarah," Michelle said, cheering me up.
"Your sister is right Sarah, just do whatever you want and we're just right here," Mom added, giving me more encouragement.
"We'll talk about it one day, okay?" Daddy Robert stated.
"Yes, Dad," I replied.
"Guys, have you noticed?" Michelle suddenly asked and made everyone look up to her.
"Notice what?" Andrew asked.
"Noticed that our little sister here still didn't bring someone with her. We're not that strict of you, aren't we?" She asked, smirking at me.
Mom beside me also chuckles because of her words.
"Oh come on. Don't start it." I whispered, anxiously.
"Actually, she already said yes for a date with her varsity schoolmate Damian," Therese announced cheerfully, mocking me more. I felt my cheeks heating up due to embarrassment and I feel like I want to just hide my face under the table.
"What!?"
"When?"
My sibling's concurrent reaction with different tones.
I faced up to Andrew and saw him with a puckered forehead glaring at me, while I caught the excitement in Michelle's when I turn to her, I also looked in dad's direction while mom is serving him the dessert, but he just kept on eating his food peacefully, not minding us.
"hmm... this dessert is heaven. You should make Damian taste this, for sure he'll never let you go, forever." Michelle teasingly compliments me, I just eyed her.
"Yeah! That's true, why don't you build your own dessert shop? You never fail at making them." Therese added.
"You're right, actually she wants that too, she only needs more encouragement to decide," Michelle uttered, while mom noticed my brother's expression.
"Hey, son, cheer up, you don't have to be overprotective of her always, she's old enough to handle these things. Let her be, right sweetheart?" Mom said, smiling at me.
"Let our innocent sweetheart experience the feeling of love and how sweet it is." Mom giggles and tickles me.
"Mom!" I cried out, feeling ashamed.
"What is it with you people always find me the most interesting topic on all occasions and besides it's just a date." I unbelievably rolled my eyes.
"No way, that man is bad news, I don't trust him" Andrew suddenly said.
"It's okay babe, your sister is smart she'll know it if that man is no good, you don't have to be worried," Therese explained.
"Why did you agree in the first place?" Andrew asked me, ignoring Therese's statement.
"Quit acting like a jerk Andrew, it's not like she's going to run away." Michelle retorted and I heard Richard chuckles softly.
"You don't understand, I just don't want her to get in trouble." He added, defending himself.
"She will never be in trouble unless you want to go with her on her date, that would be a sure trouble" Michelle mocks him more and laughs.
"Enough!" Everyone suddenly stopped by our father's fierce tone.
"I'm sorry Dad." I apologized lowly for being the topic of tonight's dinner.
"It's okay sweetheart, now eat." He ordered everyone.
I heard a deep sigh and I looked up in front of me to see a quiet Andrew now continuing his food and Therese slightly mouthed 'sorry' for me, I just smiled and showed her my thumb up assuring her that it's okay.
I wonder how Andrew will react once Therese told him about what she is planning to do. I don't know if I could celebrate because of the news or I should feel blue for Andrew or should I hit the ceiling and celebrate that my brother will be single again.
'So? What if he becomes single again? You think you'll have a chance?' My soul suddenly interrupted.
We serenely continued our dinner and now we are all gathered in the living area watching a movie. It is one of my favorite moments in this family when we are having some quality time, it's like we are building up our relationship together as a family.
Everyone is enjoying it while mommy and Michelle are busy reviewing the wedding preparations.
"How does it feel getting married soon?" I suddenly asked.
"Of course, you will feel so much excitement, happiness, and a little bit of nervousness as well, but I guess it's normal." She explained, smiling and I just nodded.
"These colors are so nice, for sure the church will be so dreamy." I am referring to the colors she chose for the theme of her wedding, it is nudes and whites.
"That's how I like it actually." She responded I can see how excited she is.
'She is truly in love,' I thought with a smile.
"How about you sweetie? How do you dream about your wedding someday?" Mommy Elena suddenly asked me.
"I don't know yet mom, maybe, for now, I'll just hope that someday I will be getting married to the person I truly love and loves me back," I explained, looking down at the catalog.
"Of course, that's the most important thing in marriage." Mom said, smiling at me.
But, is it possible for me to be with that someone I love? I guess not, if it's not him then I'm sure God destined someone for me for sure.
'Wait, did I just say love? Is this love?'
