Everyone is talking and laughing and having fun. The music is slow and nostalgic and the drinks are flowing. The brunt of the party is over. Everyone is already stuffed from the buffet and right now, I'm standing all by myself watching everyone after the aftermath of my gender reveal s***h engagement party. Mom and Dad are seated in a corner taking champagne. They're talking quietly and laughing at the most random times. I don't have to be a seer to know that I'm the hugest chunk of their discussion. See, I wasn't sure how my parents would react to me accepting Max's proposal only a couple of months after leaving a shitty marriage. I assumed they would advise me to take my time and know my future husband better before I committed myself to him. But nope. They were actually elated.
