I quickly fall into darkness the second my head hits my pillow my eyes dart all around me as I try to find a way to Bunny, I will find her no matter what. I turn in a complete circle not able to see two inches Infront of me. I start to walk straightforward not making any turns when I finally feel the slightest tug from Aphiena her fear was faint, but I now have a direction. I quicken my step and reach the edge of a lighten field I move swiftly doing my best to keep hold of the feelings Aphiena is experiencing at this moment, fear, anger, loneliness all the things I felt when I lost my parents knowing I couldn't talk to the one person that I know I could count on. I growl in frustration from being pulled back with a strong forceful hand around my waist I look over at Clay and practically demanding I ask,"
"Is there anymore? I need to go back." Angry that I couldn't get more information because I was too busy walking around the darkness with no Idea where to go. "I need to go back I almost reached her." I mutter taking a drink of the water that was sitting at the end table next to my chair. I lean forward as Clay answers resting my head in my hands as it aches my temples pulsates like a steady drum,
"I wasn't able to get a lot of the root so I will need to go out and find more before we can try again."
"Did you see anything?" Raven asks placing a plate of cookies on the table between everyone. She hands me one and gives me a look not sitting until she sees me take a bite of the chocolate chip,
"I walked around in darkness most of the time and by the time I was able to find the outer path I was pulled back. How long was I out?" I ask after swallowing the delicious desert,
"Eat, I made a lot while waiting there's even some baking in the oven, given the amount I made I would say almost two hours." I groan and get up slightly to grab another cookie,
"Try not to move to much a lot of your energy was used so you are going to be feeling a bit unsteady." Clay looks at me with a worried look, "Maybe we should get you some juice too." He mutters writing in his notebook, "If you are feeling alright, I want to go every little detail you can remember. Take your time though we have to be curtain on the information for when we present this to the council. Not that they would listen." He grumbles the part about the council to himself I don't blame him they aren't really my favorite people either.
"Your grandma said to note everything down, but only when you are ready." Raven says sipping on something warm from here it smelt like a floral tea.
"I'm ready when you are." My focus lands on Clay who nods for me to continue, "When I fell asleep, I felt more like I was being sucked into this void nothing was there, I was standing there not able to see anything I could barely see my hand when I held it out, I headed straight since I was sure where to start. After a long time, I started to get this feeling deep in my chest, it was her feeling she was scared and super pissed off." I feel the corner of my lips curl up a bit she must be making their lives like hell right now. "I ended up turning to my left and the feeling grew but it was like I was holding onto a thin fishing line. By the time I reached a patch of grass I was pulled back here."
"What was the grass like?" Raven asks, while Clay wrote my every words down. I stare at her, "What from what I heard from the earth geek here if the blade is a curtain shade of green, we can an understand of the soil it grows in and we can determine its location to a general area." Clay smiles and kisses her hand he was holding a tinge of jealousy washes over me I miss my Bunny. I sigh rubbing my eyes, I keep them shut while thinking about the green I saw.
"It was a deep green color from far away but when I look at some a little more closely it was a bit blue and almost iced over." Keeping my eyes closed I look up from the grass following a path I could barely see and mention it, "It seemed to have a path that leads to a building it looks almost old in every aspect, but it was so far away I almost missed it." Just then I hear the soft thud of the front door open and shut followed by footsteps I look up and my grandmother walks through the door with a large pouch and tosses it at Clay, it lands on the table,
"This is the root you were looking for from the elder Vilata personal stash." He looks and see's that the bag was loaded with the root.
"Thanks, I'm going to start making another batch it's going to take some time, Angelo. I'll let you know when it's done but I really think you should get some sleep before you do this again, even a half an hour would help." I wanted to get up and protest to tell him to make it as fasts as he could that I will go under right now. I needed answers and I need her back; I cannot lose her, but my body is getting heavy I lay my head back of my chair and a fog of exhaustion is crashing upon me keeping me from causing an uproar.
"This is why you have to sleep." I feel my grandma hand pat my head and runs a few fingers through my hair I can hear the worry in her voice. "Let's get you some rest and we will continue this after a good nap." I nod glaring at the earth magi.
"You better wake me up when it is ready not a second later." I say in a gruffy voice standing on my heavy legs and with my grandmothers help I walk to my old room by the front door as I hear a beeping sound of the timer in the kitchen. We get to the hall a waft of cookies fills the house.
"I hope you don't mind I get restless when I have to wait on things and seeing as cleaning your house would be weird..." Raven tries to apologize for use the kitchen without permission, but she was rushing to the kitchen to make it before the batch in the oven burns that she was cut off mid-apology. I feel my grandma laugh more than I heard it.
"It's nice to have the house so warm, I just wish it was in better conditions." Her voice was sad as she speaks in a low and give me a look, "
It's going to be okay." She tries to reassure herself and me as we enter the room I sit on the bed and take my shoes off without looking at her I say,
"Of course it will be, because I am going to find her before anything happens to her." I lay on the bed the softness calls me, so I let it pull me in, "Wake me up when it is ready." I remind her. She agrees so I will myself to sleep, hoping that if I sleep, I will be able to dream of her, my Bunny.
"I say we let him sleep some more. That clearly could not be enough to recharge." I hear a voice huff loudly while another voice much softer in tone than the other responds,
"Yeah, and he said to wake him when it's done, guess what it's done. I have to wake him up." I open my eyes to Raven and Clay arguing by the doorway I wipe my face with one hand and speak,
"If you two are done chatting then I suggest we get moving we don't have time for second guessing things." I grumble getting up from the bed and go to change my shirt they don't say anything just leave me to change the wrinkly top. I get to the living room where the couch is all set up and ready for me to lay on,
"Drink this tea, it'll keep you from losing focus." The worry looking Raven says making sure I drink it all before the potion that was sitting on the table. I take a deep breath picturing Aphiena and lay on the couch. Raven tries to hand me a blanket, but I wave it away. As the potion takes hold of me, I hear Clay tell her to stop fussing. In seconds I am under and back into the darkness that I the bonds connection. I keep my thought on Aphiena making sure she is the only thing on my mind. I feel the very so slightest tug on my heart without second guessing I start to walk in the way it's pulling. I feel it getting stronger and I know that I can feel myself getting closer. Remembering the watch on my wrist that Clay handed me I see that the time was ticking but it was ticking faster, I pick up the pace The stronger the pull the more I start to smell this horrible stench, it was if there was fog that was forming all around me I take a deep breath and test my flames, scolding myself for not trying this sooner. With the light I see a path that was twisted in a large knot I have the flame rise above me and begin to climb the folds and cracks soon I get to the top and there I see it. A large brick mansion with a thick forest around it. I stare marking out the best path and race towards the house. The closer I got the worst the smell got and the scenery becomes more like a drawing then a really object. I take it in as I run through the tress seeing that they were not given real dept. I head to the back door and listen. I hear shouting and I take of running; I get to this bright room with white and gold design. I look around and see that there six people not including Bunny who is in the middle of the room being held by two people. I try to get a good look at them their faces are gray and are smeared it was an unsettling sight.
"Remove this f*****g fog right now or else!" I hear her shout,
"Apheina!" I scream she doesn't make any move or indication that she hears me, but I hear her sigh,
"Angelo! Oh, thank God!" I get close to her as she runs at one of the people and punches him in the face sending him flying. I smile with pride she had a wonderful form.
'Thank you.' She clench's her fist as other one of them says something I didn't catch.
'Why didn't you just set his ass on fire?' I ask.
"That prick has done something, I can't use any more magic, I'm out." I hear the whimper of fear, but she is hiding it well.
"I am working on finding you so stay safe and just play along with whatever keeps you safe, you understand Bunny, the only thing you need to do is stay safe." I wrap my arms around her and will all of my flames to her. "Have my heat love and use it wisely." We were not really touching, and I can only feel the slight impression of her when I am ripped away from her.
I wake up and see just Clay reading through a book across from me, he is wearing some thick frame glasses. My groan makes him look up as I sit up.
"Angelo." He says in a low voice then glances to his right I follow his glance. Raven was curled up on the chair next to him. I tap on my watch as to ask what time it was; he motions the number two; it is two in the morning. I sigh and Raven wakes up practically jolting from her chair, she sucks in a deep breath as she looks around, her eyes finally land on me, and she wipes her head to look at Clay. He raises an eyebrow.
"I told you to wake me when he does, baby!" She whines and gets up the sound of a timer goes off. "Oh, no my cookies!" She jumps up and races to the kitchen.
"Still baking?" I ask in a low voice taking a sip of water, Clay nods,
"She slept for only thirty minutes." I look at him,
"You don't look like you got much sleep either. He shrugs.
"What new information do you have me this time, while it's fresh." He was the calmest out the three of us I notice, he grabs his notebook and looks at me when he is ready for me to start talking.
"Well, I noticed that I could use my magic in the bond and there is a path to one another. The closer I got to her mind I was being covered with this terrible smelling fog it was heavy and it felt like I was being pressed down to the ground. The watch you handed me was counting faster than here. I reached the knot that was the road, I didn't pass that the last time I just walked in a few different directions and then came upon her by chance. The place she was at..." I was interrupted when Raven came back in with a tray of cookies and a plate of pasta that she sets down.
"Eat, I did some light reading and the best thing for you is to eat high starchy food." She watches me her eyes narrowing as I just sat there, "Well? Eat, what do you need an invitation?" She crosses her arms as I slowly pick up the plate when a shiver runs down my spine, still looking at me, she touches my forehead, I flinch away but she does it again this time she gasps,
"Your temp is so low what happened? Never mind that I am going to go make you some fresh tea, eat the food." She orders as she heads back to the kitchen, the sound of my slurping and the stove turning on is the only sounds for the next few minutes with half the plate gone I continue.
"On her side of the bond it was like looking at an unfinished drawing until you get inside to the room she is being held in, I found her, Clay." Raven was rushing back in with a tray with tea on it she almost trips, but Clay was up in seconds and keeps her from falling. He takes the tray and hands me the cup of tea,
"Ray, hun go lay down." His voice was a low voice like he was soothing a wild animal, the way she reacts makes me realize he pretty much is,
"There is no way in hell I am sleeping. Angelo! You saw her? Did you find, find her? Where is she?" Clay tries to get her to sit down but she yanks her arm out of his grasp and looks at me, she looks at me with tired worry look. I sip the tea being thankful for the warmth, I motion for her to sit and she does in the spot right next to me waiting for me to speak.
"I did, she was beating fighting on of the people, she had punched him so hard he made a hole in the way she knocked him into, and that was after breaking free from two other people." I smirk and Raven crosses her arms nodding,
"Of course she did."
"I wasn't able to pinpoint where she is, but I know if I go under again I will. We just need to make a plan."
"What did the people look like?" Clay asks he is sitting back down in his chair writing.
"I don't know, they weren't visible. It was like someone tried to smear their faces I couldn't see through it. I do know that there was six people two females and four males. I am certain that one of them is Gabriel. They also dimmed her fire but before I was sent back, I was able to give her some of mine so she should be okay, I told her that we are working of finding her." I sip the tea as I talk, a blanket gets wrap around me as I look over and see my grandmother covering me in a thick warming sensation. She sit quietly as I finished talking then looks at the other two.
"What did the council say?" Raven asks.
"Were you there this whole time?" I ask her. She nods,
"We're stopping for the night so the council members can get a few hours of sleep." Raven and I stand in sync shouting,
"What the f**k!"
"Who do those old dusty ass mother fuckers think they are? Apheina is missing and kidnapped, she is in the hands of the ice kingdom, and they need some sleep! They should be up day and night until she is brought back!" Raven is screaming anger fuming from her. Clay takes hold of her hand and pull her into a tight embrace.
"Figures." I hear his low murmur.
"Well this just won't due." I stand on wobbly legs I take hold of the arm of the couch to catch myself. This stops Raven from raging and she makes Clay hold me.
"f**k, okay!" She starts putting her hand through her hair and sighs, "You mister are going to go get some sleep and as soon as it hit six we are going and telling those fuckers what's what." She huffs pushing us to my room. I am flopped on the bed I sigh,
"We have spare rooms go get some sleep," I mutter, and they leave the room turning off the light and closing the door putting me into a darkroom. I close my eyes and go every moment from that force connection. I look over her face again and again she was looking okay but I need to be able to get her and soon and I need the guards to be ready. I hold back the slur of curse words trying to get my mind right to make the council see how important it is to use this old was of magic. This isn't going to end well tomorrow I just know it.
