I need to do something

Two days, two f*****g days I've been in this f*****g cell the only time I see anyone was when someone came to give me food and that same person wouldn't say anything this silence is making me stir crazy, I pace the cell so many times I know that this is a five by ten the blue tinted tiles were blinding with the porcelain sink and white sheets the wall to the hall is clear and the white wall out there was just too bright my head is starting to pound. If they could just listen. "You should have kept your temper down." I was apparently muttering as I walked from wall to wall. I look over to the door to see my grandmother staring at me through the translucent mineral. My mind gets flash backs from the other night when I was able to talk to Apheina but no one will listen to me no matter how much I try to explain my plan, they said it was too dangerous, that we had the best guards in the world looking for her, that my plan is based on old superstition there was no way it would work so what do I do I shouted, I threatened and I made my point. I know I shouldn't have, but I couldn't stand seeing their indifferent faces as they ignored me talking among themselves as if I said nothing as if they had all the answers like always. "Grandmother?" I stop moving and face her she was pissed. She comes closer to the door glaring at me with a look that could kill if she wished it. "It took me awhile to get the clearance, it took a lot of persuasion to let you go home, Angelo." She was even tone but that was enough for me to realize that she was also very worried. "Why the hell was I even allowed in if no one was going to listen to me anyways?" Anger clear in my voice the question was rhetorical, "I can be helpful, they just need to listen to me. I know I can reach her. They have to let me save her she is all I have left." I suppress the need to shout focusing my anger into the wall next to me as I punch it, "She's all I have left." I whisper this time hitting the wall again the smooth tile cracks lightly under my punch I feel the tears fall one after another, "My mom, my dad they're gone, and I couldn't save them. I was not strong enough to save them and I can't, I can't have that happen to her, I won't have her leave me like my parent's, that is something I cannot watch happen again I wasn't ready then, but I am ready now I know I can save her." More tears came out I couldn't hold it in anymore. I feel helpless, useless, upset, angry and I couldn't do it anymore I continue to punch the wall I feel the blood run through my fingers as my hands start to bleed but I still didn't stop. I hear a click from the door and my grandmother takes hold of me wrapping her arms around me. "Shhhh, it'll be okay, everything will be okay, shhh." She came into my cell and held me close as she stops me from hitting the wall in the end, I was just sitting on the ground sobbing like a child in her arms. "No, no it isn't it won't be because I'm lock up here. It's been three days since she was kidnapped grandma I..." I was forced to stop talking by her pulling me to stand up like a five-year-old pushing slightly to move away from her, but she stops me, "Do you really think that child is going to let herself be a victim? Can you honestly tell me that she is going to let her life be taken over so easily?" I shake my head whipping my face with the back of my sleeve and take a deep breath it was still shaky, but it was enough to regain enough amount of sanity to think I start to pace back and forth again this time thinking on what I can do to get out of here. I feel like a lion in a cage with all the pacing, but I couldn't stay still the thoughts of Apheina being hurt keeps running through my head putting my body into overdrive I use that anxiety to find the best way to be let go, if I could apologize to the old bastard for busting his nose I would but no one would buy that, I could just over take the guard but that would land me back in here and for longer. My grandmother goes to the "bed" as I pace sighing in frustration as I look over the cell's walls. Minutes had passed when I finally stopped and look at her but before I could say anything the sound of feet stomping down the concrete stairs pulls my attention forward, my grandmother stands in attention next to me as we wait for the people to reach the door. From the stairwell five men and one older woman comes down to the door their dark clothes a dark contrast to the rest of the jail with them in black uniforms with gold pendants on their chest. The man standing in the very front looks at my grandmother then at me and my bleeding hands. He shakes his head and says in an even tone to the women on his left. "Get him cleaned up." He looks back at my grandmother, "You come with me." Without a word she heads out of the room, and they walk away leaving the women and three of the five guards stay. "I'm Epione, come with me please." She talks with the type of calmness that could ease anyone's mind. She looks at my knuckles before turning around telling me to follow her we head back up the stairs to the second floor the long walk was in silence. We go to the very end of the hallway to a room with beds, curtains and a strong smell of meds in the air, the med-bay, I hated it here, old memories from when I was at the outer wall flashes back to the first time I had to stitching and patching myself back up after "training in the forest where I took care of some of the more nocent beasts and enemies meet at. "You can take a seat there." She points to a chair I obediently sit and wait but when she comes to me with alcohol and wraps, I flinch away the horrible memories clouding the present. "It'll be over in seconds let's just clean it up a little bit and get out of here." I was able to actually get a good look at her she is in her mid 40's, with black hair, slim figure but with power behind her, there is a clearness in her eyes that tells everyone that she has more knowledge beyond her age then she lets on with her stone face. She takes hold of one of my hands pouring the alcohol over my opened knuckles I wanted to pull away from pain but held it in I felt worst pain than this. "It may hurt but if you plan to get your love back you will need to toughen up." She speaks as she works on whipping the blood away not making eye contact, I wanted to tell her that I was trying to get her back that this didn't hurt but there was something in the way she said the words I know she means well and that she might have information I need I don't know why but they must have come down to let me out for a reason the council never does anything for no reason. A bitter taste fills my mouth, the sourness reminding me of the fog in the teleo's waves however there a metalice after taste instead of the bitter mold that lingers. I decide to respond back in an even tone hoping to sound in control. "Can't get her back being left in a cell." I look away trying to calm my anger knowing punching a council member was the worst thing to do but the anger I felt at the time made me see red and I lost it, it felt great to see him fall though. "If you hadn't been in a cell, you'd probably be dead right now." I hear a smile in her voice, but she doesn't have one when I look back at her. She was right I was ready to head straight for the wall and leave Ospen to find her my life be damned. "I don't find it amusing." I say a little like a child but that is what I feel like a child that can't do anything for anyone. She doesn't respond or say anything while she finishes cleaning and wrapping my wounds. When she finished, she looks at the door there is footsteps getting louder then stands. "Let's go they're waiting." I want to ask who, but I didn't have time she had already started walking out the door. there was a few more men in black also wearing the gold pendent. We had walked all the way across to the other side of the building taken the elevator to the top floor of the west wing of the long building. When we get to the big, huge door that leads to the Elders corner where they have been pushed to. Two of the men push them open enough for everyone to step in and promple close it with a loud thud. Inside the room was filled with the last of the royal family the two elders' sisters, their children and few of the older grandkids. The oldest of the two Vilata Skou stands greeting the guards that started to station themselves to the walls and entries. "Angelo please take a seat." She smiles at me. I nod and move to the last empty chair. I am greeted by the two younger people at the table I am seated by. "I like to start by thank you on behalf of me and my friend Clay. Thanks to that root I was able to go back into the bond and I was able to talk to Apheina and she is alive but not safe. If could possibly run a few ideas to get her back, I know I will be able to find her and bring Apheina back safely. Everyone was silent waiting for her to respond. She smiles then nods, "I'm glad to be of help, please come and get anymore of the ingredients when you need them, we believe you are the only way that we can reach her." She begins to say but then cut off by her sister, "However, you will not be the one to go get her. You are not to leave your grandmothers house under any circumstances. When the time comes you will remain in the main building until she is home." I stand slamming my hand down on the table a spark of fire ignites for a second as I look at the two women, it doesn't appear that they are the ones that made the decision, "Says who? I am going on the mission, and no one is going to stop me." They sigh, "This is the only way you are able to assist, I know how you feel but there is no way we could get around it. You are still only nineteen and the council was made clear that you were not to be put in harm's way until you are an adult." "As the council put it." One of the daughters spoke, I look over to the blond hair women she was in her forties sitting next to Vilata her hair was shining against her black clothes, "Like we all didn't know that they used you as another one of their warriors for the past two years. They are just afraid they will be found out, Angelo." She folds her arms sitting up straighter, "Do you trust the council?" I look around the table observing the faces that were also sizing me up as well. The older adults are looking at me stoned face almost unreadable but there was something in the way they sat that gave away their anticipation to make sure we are on the same side. "If I have to honest no, if they were truly here to protect us why are there so many restrictions on the way we use our magic how we use them, or what we are able to learn, with the limited studies." I sit back down ready to continue in my rant. "What makes you say that?" An older man maybe in his fifties raises a eyebrow. "The last month I have been able to really get a look at our really old history and talk to some interesting people one was the boy you help with the roots; he has more knowledge on strong magic that those learning at the academy couldn't even wrap their head around. What is being taught is the bare minimum at best, and the fire users are becoming smaller and smaller every year, yet no one is talking about it. Then there is also the fact that one of the ice kingdoms spies were here for the last five years, yet no one noticed him, no one questions the guy, and he was able to steal Bunny." I scowl folding my arms in trying to keep my temper at bay as I look at the room it was large so when I raised my voice at the end it almost echoes back. I ball my hands; I need to get through this meeting and go back to see if I can reach Bunny again. "I don't know about you, but I call that incompetence on many levels." I hear the girl next to me do her best to suppress a laugh. I glance at her then the boy next to her he was biting his lips, "Well, isn't that the understatement of the year." I hear a laugh from the other elder Ina speaks with a little less hostile. "Since they took over, we have saw the slow downfall of our people, but it was decided by the people we could not stop it. This is the last straw for me. If anything happened to that girl I will rain hell on those shady bastards." "Mother!" I brown hair woman on the left gasps, elder Ina rolls her eyes and her sister clears her throat. "We want to stick to your plan, granted you will not be able to go get her I know that you want to go but we can not risk losing both protectors. We will make sure everyone that goes is runed by your grandmother, we will make sure to follow all the rules are followed and she will be the only thing important." I cross my arms, "Fine whatever, but if anything goes wrong, I will burn this building to the ground with everyone in it." I stand and walk out they are just like the council they won't listen to me I am going to find her, and I will go get her and no one is going to stop me. In the hall my grandmother was standing by the door talking to the guard she left with earlier. She sees me walking out and pass her after getting her last words out she moves into step with me and pats my shoulder. "I heard." Was the only thing she said, "I am going to go get her. No one is going to stop me." I growl in a low tone. We walk to the elevator, and we do not speak until we got back to her house. "How did it go?" Raven asks she was sweeping the living room, but she stops and put the broom down to come greet us in the entryway. She was loud enough that Clay peck out of the dining room with a mouth full of cookies. "Is the guard coming in today?" She asks looking at the man on the porch. MY grandmother shakes her head. "No. As for the meeting." She looks at me pausing then asks the two. "Why haven't you guys gone home? Or at least back to the dorms?" Raven who was moving for us to get through answers first as I watch Clay try to clear his throat. "My parents have a lot on their plate right now with my sister and I was giving the okay by the school to stay here since my room is technically a crime scene. One of the newer guards stayed with me." "I was asked to help Angelo this morning I had gone back to the dorms last night. I just got back after a chat with the council. I am not allowed to stay but I will be here every day until we get Aphie back." Clay answers after wiping him face. "Since Angelo can't leave the house, we will be in your care for the time being, I swear we will behave and try to pick up after ourselves." He was stand tall with his arms behind his back like he was standing in front of his superior, which I guess he is. "Well I see you will." She responds looking at the broom. "Who was your master?" She asks sizing him up for the first time, I don't think they talked much the first day with her dealing with the chiefs. "Oh, no I am just the grandson of Turstan of Dinasfos on my mother's side we visited his home a lot. I am the only grandkid that had any interest in his line of work and was given the opportunity to study under him for a few years at the north." He was calm speaking of the late chief but there was a flash of emotions run across his eyes. She nods as we all take a seat in the living room. "SO, the meeting? Did they listen to you?" Raven asks dumping the dust in trash as she tries to get back to the awful topic. When my grandmother doesn't answer I realized I had too. I rub my face and say, "Well, if you ask the council, it's a no. Our plan is not realistic because that kind of magic is no longer necessary when we have the technology to track her with. So, it is best that I wait here and stay out of trouble." "But those gadgets don't work in the ice storms that well." Clay says, I laugh dryly. "They don't think the Ice kingdom has anything to do with it. They think it is a royal advocate trying to stir the pot. Even if she was, I would be able to go get her because I am too important to lose and since I am not an adult, yet I can't be put in danger." Ravens' eyes bug out her head and Clay crosses his arms scowling. "Then why were you there for two days if they were just going to say no?" Raven asks. I rub my hands together and with a heavy sigh. "I punched a council member. Then was detained for two days." Raven gasps as Clay bursts out laughing. Once he started to calm down Raven asks, "So, what is the real plan then?" I smile, "What and go against orders." I shake my head, "Of course we are going to go get her. This morning, I was able to talk to the elders they will provide us the matters to make the potion and in doing so they get any of the information I learn. If you have the potion ready, I want to try and find where she is." I shift in my seat wanting to get to her as soon as I can, but Clay holds a hand up, "I actual found something about the teleoperation Gabriel used. It seems that in order for it to work both air and earth magic is needed, and the spell doesn't travel far but if the air magic is strong enough, they could from her dorm be able to pass the barrier but only to the outer woods just on the edge of the barrier so there is a chance on of the camera's pick the up but it's a very small chance, but that would take the power of almost ten air magi's and seven earth magi's practically draining them of their magic. If they were able to obtain that they are more than likely no longer in Ospen." I nod I knew that they would make sure to get her out of Ospen. "They could be halfway to the ice kingdoms capital by now." "I will have someone check the cameras." My grandmother says getting up but before she leaves, she looks at me and places a hand on my shoulder, "Do not do anything stupid without back up you hear me?" I nod and she leaves. "Alright lets see if we can get some directions or indication of where she is." I say looking at Clay who gets up to get the potion but before he could leave the room Raven takes hold of his arm, "Wait sandwich and tea first them we can have you zonk out." She heads to the kitchen and makes sure I ate the whole thing before letting me lay down.
