The Hybrid Prophecy

Chapter Twelve

(Rose’s point of view)

It has felt like I have been asleep for a long time, the only thing I can remember is meeting Midnight and my mate and biting him to save his life. The do not remember anything after that except feeling the worst pain I have ever felt in my life, I tried to wake up and fight whoever was causing me that pain but my body would not let me. I was thankful when the pain stopped and I got the feeling that I was with someone safe,

   ‘Rose it is time to wake up, your mate is there waiting for you’ I heard a voice say but I did not know who it was. I only knew that it was not Midnight, I had not heard from her since she told me to bite Jack. I listened to the voice and started to try to wake myself up, at first I did not think it was working because nothing was changing. I kept on trying a few more times but still nothing was changing,

   ‘maybe I should just give up’ I think to myself not sure what to do next.

   ‘Don’t give up Rose we are so close to waking up and I can feel mate is remarkably close to us’ Midnight responded to me and I was so happy to hear from her. I know that I have not had her for long but she has helped me with everything I have been thought up to now and I would hate if she ever went away. I willed myself with all of my might to wake up and it felt like it was working, I started to feel sparks in my hand and pressure, like someone was holding on to my hand. I focused on that feeling to make myself wake up, I felt my eyes flutter open. I tried to sit up but something was stopping me, I looked to see what was stopping me and saw my mate was asleep while resting his head on me. I looked around the room and knew I was not in my mother’s castle, were was I? I looked to see if there was anyone that I knew here, I saw the two people that was meant to be my mates parents but I do not know them. I started to get scared that I had no one that I knew with me but when I looked at the other side of the room and saw Rickie sat there asleep in a chair, he came with me. That warmed my heart, he really is a true friend,

   ‘Rose I feel like something is wrong’ Midnight mind links me and I do not understand why she would feel that way, I feel fine.

   ‘What do you mean Midnight? I feel fine, do you feel like something is going to happen?’ I ask her hoping that her answer will be no.

   ‘No not like something will happen, I feel weak like I need something but I do not know what’ she reply’s and I get the feeling she does not like this feeling. I think about what could be making her weak. After a while I remember that I have not fed since Jack attacked me.

   ‘Midnight I know what is wrong with us, we need to feed’ I tell her.

   ‘you mean food?’ she asks but I get the idea she knows that is not what I meant,

   ‘no Midnight we need blood’ I tell her.

   ‘Eww that is nasty, no I will not drink blood, I am a wolf not a vampire’ she moans at me,

   ‘well I am a vampire and you are a part of me meaning you are a vampire too and you need what I need so get over it’ I tell her and I hear her huff at what I have said but she does not reply letting me know she got the message.

I try to get Jack off of me without waking him up but as soon as I start to push him away he wakes up startled and looking to see what had happened. When he sees that it was me a huge smile spreads across his face, goddess I really am looking.

   “I am glad to see you are awake” he says to me in he deep voice that I just love, I smile at him and rest my hand on his face. As soon as my hand touches his face he leans into my touch making Midnight purr in my head. I tried to hide the fact I was blushing from Jack but may the look he had on his that he knew I was blushing, I hide my face from him but Jack put his hand under my chin and pulled my head towards him so that I was looking at him.

   “Please love do not hide your beautiful face from me” Jack pleads to me and I could not help but listen to him. I try to get out of bed but Jack stops me,

   “Baby don’t get you, if you need anything please let me know and I will get it for you” he says and I cannot help but think how sweet he is for caring so much for me but after all be is my mate he is meant to care for me.

   “Thank you Jack but I need to go the toilet I do not think you can do that for me” I say while letting out a little laugh, Jack joined me in laughing as he let me get up and go to the toilet. Once I had done my busy and washed my hands, I left the bathroom and became rooted to the ground. Everyone that was asleep in the room had now woken and was looking and me, at first I thought that I had something on my face but then I remembered that I had just looked at myself in the mirror and saw nothing.

   “What are you all looking at?” I ask because I started to get nervous with them all staring at me,

   “I am sorry my dear but we are just happy to have our son back and to see him so happy with his beautiful mate and that you have awoken and is looking well” the older man says to me, I just smile in return unsure of what to say.

   “Hello there, I am Doctor Mike and it is good to see you awake” a man says while walking into the room.

   “How are you feeling?” Doctor Mike asks me, I do not want to answer that a hundred percent because I do not know how Jack will react but I think it is better not to lie.

   “I am feeling fine but Midnight my wolf is feeling weak” I say afraid the Doctor will ask me why,

   “that is funny because Flare my wolf has been saying the same and we both do not know why we are feeling that way” Jack says before the Doctor could ask me why.

   “Well we can run some tests to see why this is happening to both of you if you want” the Doctor says while looking at the both of us.

   “I know why our wolves are feeling weak and what they need” I say while looking at the floor,

   “Love tell us what we need to do” Jack says and I hope he does not hate me for what I am about to say.

   “As you know I was born a vampire and vampires need blood to survive, when I bit you, I turned you like me just as when you bit me you turned me like you. What we need is blood Jack but do not worry I hunt animals as does Rickie.” I finish what I was saying but I was still afraid of how Jack would take this, wolves are not used to having to drink blood.

   “Well it is not something I would choose to do myself but if my mate needs it and I am just like her I will do it too” Jack says and I cannot believe what I was hearing. He really is an amazing mate to try something that should repulse him all because his mate needs to do it.

   “Well lets go” I say as I grab his hand and start heading towards the door before we can get out of the door Rickie blocks it and has a worrying look on his face.

   “I need to talk to both of you before you go” he whispers to us,

   “Rickie I really need to feed and so will Jack, you can come with us so that you can talk to us or wait until we get back” I say to him. He just looks at me for a moment then steps aside, I know this means he is waiting to talk to me for when I get back. I run out of the hospital and straight into the woods, I am so happy to be hunting with my mate. I take my mate far away from the pack to make sure we do not hurt anyone there, once we are a safe distance away I stop and close my eyes and start to breath all the different scents around me. Once I have caught the scent of some elk close by I grab Jack hand and pull him to where I had got the scent from. In front of us was a few elk,

   “watch me and do not over think it” I tell Jack as I move closer to the elk while making sure that I do not scare them, I look over at Jack and see that he is copying my every move. I need to tell him to jump when I jump but if I speak I will scare away the elk.

   ‘try to mind link him’ Midnight says to me, I am not sure about it but it is worth a shot.

   ‘Jack to not jump until I tell you to respond me if you have got my mind link’ I mind link him hoping it would work.

   ‘Got it’ I hear Jack’s voice in my head and I smile at the fact that I know can mind link him, we both move closer to our prey without making any noise. Once I was happy with how close we were to our prey I crouched down and looked over at Jack to do the same. Once he had I readied myself to jump,

   ‘on 3 Jack, 1, 2, 3. Now Jack jump’ I tell him and watch him jump on the elk in front of him, I quickly jump on mine to make sure it does not get away.

   “Bite down on it’s neck Jack, just do not think about it” I tell him and after a little hesitation Jack bites down on the elks neck and starts to drink its blood. I could not help but get a little turned on watching Jack drink some blood. I quickly looked away and bite down on the elk in front of me and started to drain it of its blood, once I was done I stood up and turned to see were Jack was but he was not by his elk. I turned more around to see if I could find him, I let out a sigh of relief when I saw him standing behind me.

   “Lets head back” he says and I nod knowing I would have to feed until tomorrow now, Jack grabs my hand and we run together back to the pack house. Once we arrive there a guard is waiting for us,

   “the King, Queen and Rickie are waiting for you in the King’s office, just go in and up the stairs and it’s the first door on your right” the guard tells us. Jack does not respond to the guard he just starts running again and pulling me with him. Without knocking Jack goes straight through the door, I hope he does not get into trouble. My mother always made me knock before going into ger office but everyone in the room is smiling at us.

   “So Rickie what did you want to talk to us about?” I ask as me and Jack take a seat on the couch in the room. Rickie looks nervous almost like he did not want to tell me what he felt like he needed too,

   “first I want to tell you both why Rose was in so much pain, the vampire Queen asked me to find a way to remove your mates mark. I thought she only wanted to help you, I thought he was not really your mate but I was wrong and I am sorry for that.” Rickie said while Jack growled at him, I quickly grabbed his hand to calm him down and let Rickie continue.

   “I did find a way but it needed someone who loved you as a mate would and the Queen wanted me to do it even though I did not love you that way. She started the ritual and that is way Rose was in pain, I am so sorry for the pain I caused you. I should not have listened to the Queen and shown her what to do” Rickie said and I could feel the anger pouring out of Jack,

   “it is alright Rickie, you were only trying to do what you thought was right and you put a stop to it and got me out of there and brought me to my mate” I say before Jack says anything. I mean yes it did hurt me that Rickie would help my mother try to take my mate from me but then again he was only following the orders of his Queen.

   “That is not the only thing I wanted to talk to you about, while I was looking for a way to remove your mark I found this” he said while holding a book. I could not see the title of the book,

   “what is it?” I ask while still trying to figure out what it is,

   “it is a book about The Hybrid Prophecy, I think it is about you and Jack” he says and everyone but him gasps at what he just said. There is a prophecy about Jack and me, there cannot be can there?
