After a short patrol, it's clear our wolves were not in the mood for much more as they lay down beside the hot springs, curling up together under the moonlight. They don’t sleep, just absorb each other's presence and soak up some of the moon's magic. Joel shifts back first with a sigh. “Come, let's bathe,” he says, holding out a hand to me. I push at my wolf, asking her to retreat inside me and she does easily. I take Joel’s hand, and he helps me up, leading me to the steaming water. “You first,” I say, peering into the clear water. I can see the rocky bottom, and it looks inviting, but I've never seen a hot spring before. I'm not sure how hot they are.
