The Royalties

Chapter 9

Rolan:

Lunch had come faster than we had hoped, and now we were dining in mum and dad’s terrace.

“How were your classes?” Mum asked trying to break the awkward silence, we have been sitting her for almost twenty minutes and neither one of us has said a word since greeting the king and queen and were allowed to sit on the dining table with them.

“Good” Andrea answered before any one of us could make a smart remark, and though I had hoped he didn’t I knew it was the right thing to do.

“These are good” mum said wanting to give us some of the creamed chicken, I smiled at her and nodded as she stood up and served me, Mia got up and took the plate from mum serving us herself wanting mum to sit and relax.

“Thank you” I mouthed, and Mia nodded smiling softly.

“Can we talk? Like a normal family?” Dad suddenly spoke as Mia put the dish on the table and sat back down fixing her light pink dress, we all looked at dad neither of us speaking, I for one saw no point of speaking as it would end with us fighting.

“Do you see us as a normal family?” Andrea asked.

“Andrea” Mia hissed under her breath, but Andrea shook his head keeping his green eyes on dad’s, dad closed his eyes and bit the inside of his lip as he debated on how he was to answer his eldest son without ending this night with another argument.

“We are a normal family” mum said softly.

“Yes, a normal family that locks its children up” Andrea said sarcastically, dad snapped and banged his fist on the table making his glass of water fall and spill the water on the table, me, Mia and Rebecca jumped as dad got up and walked over to Andrea making our eyes widen in fear at what he would do.

“You are testing every ounce of love and patience I have for you, stop it!” Dad glared at Andrea standing inches away from his face, now if this were anyone else in Andrea’s position, the vampire king inches away from his face, fangs bared, eyes glowing and a dark aura forming around him; Andrea however showed no emotion as he stood up and used his index finger putting it on dad’s chest and pushing him back slightly.

“Well do your worst, my chest is bared for you, all you have to do is shove your hand in and take out my heart” Andrea said challenge lacing his voice, both Rebecca and I looked at Mia who was shaking her head stopping us from making any move we’ll regret.

“Get out of my sight” dad said angrily.

“Harry…”

“I said OUT!” dad yelled at Andrea, me, Mia and Rebecca jumped at the loudness of his voice, and Andrea pushed dad away from him and walked past him and back inside the royal chamber, we looked at mum trying to know what to do next without making the issue bigger than it already was.

“Sit” mum mouthed and we nodded keeping our backs straight as dad sat back down in his seat, I put my fork and knife down having lost my appetite, I kept my eyes on my plate wanting nothing more than to get out of this room and go after my big brother, but I knew that one wrong move would be dangerous at this point.

“If you want to leave, then leave” dad said looking at us, and literally as if on que all three of us got up, bowed to the king and queen, then walked back to the royal chamber.

I knocked the door twice and Ashton opened the door for us him and the other guards bowing to us as we walked out.

“Where did Andrea go?” Mia asked Ashton.

“To the garden” Ashton whispered.

“Anyone with him?” Mia asked.

“Caspian”

“Come on we need to go to him” Mia told both me and Rebecca, we nodded not saying anything still in shock of our father’s behavior toward us.

“Ashton…”

“Don’t worry princess, if anyone asks you went to your chamber” Ashton said stopping Mia, she smiled and nodded as the guards bowed down to her.

“Come on you two…”

Andrea:

Fucking ass of a king…

I felt my anger rise as fire started around me with each step I took, and had it not been Caspian out here with me, the garden would’ve burned down.

“Andrea you need to calm down” Caspian said calmly, his black neat, well once neat hair was being messed up from the wind which was picking up around us.

Bloody damn bullshit! I knew that my anger was getting the best of me, especially since the ground started shaking under our feet.

“Andrea STOP!” Caspian jumped at the sound of his mate yelling, Mia vampire sped toward me and grabbed me by my neck stabilizing me against a tree trunk “wake up Andrea” her eyes stayed on mine as she used her powers to calm me down, she like Lord Leonardo had the power to control emotions.

It took her a minute or so, but she let me go when she was sure that I had calmed down shaking her head as she looked at the cracked ground around us.

“Mum spent a lot of time fixing this garden by the way” Mia rolled her eyes, I glared at her and returned everything to the way it was, made the few trees that had fallen, lost their leaves or branches grow again, sealed the ground then glared at my sister.

“What are you doing here?” I asked her.

“Geez, nice to see you too” she rolled her eyes.

“We knew you’d lose your temper and we wanted to bring you back inside before mum and dad caught you” Rolan said crossing his arms.

“They already know I’m here, that I’m sure of” I rubbed my temple trying to sooth the headache.

“Ashton is covering for us, so no they don’t, but we need to be back inside before they find out” Rebecca said looking me in the eye, Caspian wrapped his arm around Mia’s waist and pulled her in for a quick hug, rolling my eyes I nodded.

I opened a portal to my chamber and Mia kissed her mate one last time before walking through to the chamber, nodding at Caspian as he smiled at me I closed the portal and turned to face my siblings with a frown on my face.

“What did dad say?” I asked.

“Nothing, he said we could leave if we wanted to and we came to you as soon as we left” Rebecca answered, I nodded at sat on the black leather couch resting my elbows on my legs and leaning my chin on my hands as I shook my leg, my anger still getting the best of me.

Rolan’s hand on my right thigh stopped me from shaking my leg and I looked at him to find him sitting beside me, smiling gently, Mia sat on her knees in front of me as Rebecca sat on my left side.

“We’re all here okay?” Mia said gently “we’ve got each other yeah? We’ll find a way out of this”

I gave her a small smile and nodded, I really did hope that we all got out of this safely, but with the way things were going, I could tell that it’d a hell harder to do so.
