Andrea:
Every muscle in my body froze as I saw the elf standing before our eyes shifted in the form of our tutor.
“Why hello children” the elf smirked, I put a hand in front of Rebecca and Rolan pushing them behind Mia and I and looked at Mia to find her fangs bared as she glared at him.
“Who are you?” I asked angrily.
“Mr. Griswold, who else would I be your highness?” He smirked, a fireball appeared in my palm making his eyes widen in fear, elves hated fire.
“Let’s start over” I sneered glaring at him “who are you?”
The fireball grew bigger in my palm as I kept my eyes on the elf, knowing that he had no way out of this he gulped and slowly started shifting back to his real form.
His shoulders were slouched and his nose long and pointed, pointed ears, small lips and big deep brown eyes looked at us.
I looked around the library noticing that it was empty, even Marlin the library keeper was nowhere in sight.
“They call me Eutia” the elf said looking at us, he had a sheet draped over his body for clothes, keeping his hand extended as he held his wand up on us, my fireball stayed in my palm directed at him.
“Where’s Mr. Griswold?” Mia asked, her fangs were still bared and her blue eyes had turned into a darker shade of blue as anger rose within her.
“Asleep”
“What do you mean asleep?” Rolan asked angrily, he looked around checking for any death around us, as like he could sense death like dad.
“He’s sleeping, peacefully in his chamber, I have put a spell on him to stay asleep for a few more hours”
“What do you want?” I asked angrily.
“Oh, I want nothing young prince” the elf said calmly, his wand in his hand was still extended in our direction.
“Who sent you here?” Mia asked, I frowned in confusion at why she would ask such a question, especially since we knew who would be sending anyone to attack us at this point.
“I must not say” Eutia said looking away from us, the fear was visible in his eyes and voice which made me raise an eyebrow.
“Are you a free elf?” Mia asked.
“No”
“Do you wish to be?” I asked looking at Mia catching on to the bargain she was making.
The elf’s eyes lit up at my question and he started nodding frantically “yes! More than anything in the world” his words made my eyes soften, though the fireball still remained in my palm in his direction.
“Then we’ll make a deal, you tell us everything we need to know and I guarantee that we save your life and set you free” I said looking him in the eye, his brown eyes sparkled and he smiled.
“It is impossible for you to set me free young prince”
“Why is it impossible?” Rebecca asked frowning in confusion.
“For me to be free, my owners must die, or set me free themselves and neither one of them will happen” Eutia said looking down at his feet.
“You can leave that up to us” Mia said softly.
“Prince William and his maiden, Lady Amelia sent me here to spy on you, and to kill you when ordered to do so” Eutia said avoiding our eyes.
I looked at Mia who shook her head and rubbed her temple with her index finger, of course if we tell this to mum and dad, we’d be locked up in a dungeon not simply my and Mia’s chamber.
“Why are they doing all this?” I asked.
“They want to stop the prophecy and become rulers of all the four kingdoms”
“What prophecy?” Rolan asked.
“It is said that a prophecy was born in the human world not too long ago, that is all I know young prince” Eutia kept his eyes on the floor as he spoke “I must go now”
“What? No!”
But the elf didn’t give us any time to try and stop him as he opened a portal under him, sank inside of it and closed the portal; leaving me and my siblings to stand in confusion in the library.
“Your majesties!” The door burst open revealing Marlin, mum, dad, Ashton, and Daniel, they looked around the library as if searching for any sign of danger and a probable explanation on why the library door was, I’m assuming locked.
“Where is he?” Dad asked angrily.
“Where’s who?” I asked frowning.
“Mr. Griswold”
“He’s sleeping, peacefully in his chamber” Rolan said mimicking Eutia, I had to bite my bottom lip to stop myself from smirking at my little brother’s answer.
“Excuse me?” Dad asked looking at Rolan.
“He’s asleep, in his chamber”
“The library door was locked” mum said standing by father, she held him by his arm his anger started rising and becoming more visible by the second.
“There was a breach in the palace, again” I said looking mum straight in the eye, she knew I never talked back, especially not to her, but none of them was listening to anything we were saying and right now it was getting annoying.
“What do you mean by again?” Dad snapped, I was about to answer when Mia’s hand wrapped around my forearm, I looked at her and found her shaking her head at me wanting me to stop.
“Nothing sire, if there’s nothing you need, we’re going to our chamber” Mia said looking at dad, his eyes widened when he heard Mia address him as sire instead of father, but paying no attention to that; all four of us bowed down to the king and queen before walking out of the library.
“Why did you stop me?” I asked frowning.
“There was no use of trying to explain something they’re all trying so hard to hide, just let them be and stop fighting them” Mia answered, we walked through the palace halls avoiding getting caught with anyone, our guards following a few steps behind.
“So, we just leave them in their oblivion until when exactly?”
“Until we leave the palace” Mia whispered as we entered the chamber.
“What do you mean by leave the palace?” Rolan asked, his eyes were wide in confusion at the words of his big sister, honestly so were mine, Mia was actually against us leaving at first, therefor her saying it now surprised all of us.
“We need to find our what that prophecy is, who it was born with and what it means, and believe me if we stay here, we will get no answers whatsoever” Mia said looking at us, we stood in front of the fireplace as she spoke.
I nodded at my siblings to sit down on the leather couches, and we all did as our minds raced with questions on what we were going to do, how? When? And where the hell we were going to begin with in the first place.
“But where will we go Mia? You know that we’ve never been there and literally know nothing there” Rebecca asked, the fires danced in her blue eyes as she looked at the fireplace before turning her gaze to her big sister.
“We’ll start by the palace; I’m sure King Alexander and Queen Monique might have an answer to our questions”
“What if they refuse to answer? Or even worse send us back to this kingdom?” Rolan asked.
“If so, we’ll go to King Alessio, mum’s uncle”
“Mia you do realize that this is not a game we’re playing” I said slowly.
“What do you expect us to do? Wait for them to attack again? Or wait for them to kill one of us?” Mia snapped, I could tell she was worried about not only our lives, but our parents too.
“How will we leave? Mum and dad would never allow it”
“We’ll simply have to sneak away”
“Like runaways?”
“Do you have a better option or suggestion?”
I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair as my mind raced, on one side I knew that Mia was right, but on the other I was worried about us risking everything by leaving and ending up making a big mistake in putting everyone’s life at stake.
“We’ll have to leave by a portal, not by teleportation as I’m sure the king and queen have ordered to close the doors of the realms”
“If the realm doors are closed how will the portal open?” Rolan asked.
“Leave that up to me, I just need a few days to get everything ready”
Mia, Rolan and Rebecca didn’t say anything for a while, the only sound being heard was of the crackling fire.
“Okay then, should we start getting ready?” Rebecca asked changing the subject.
“For?” Rolan frowned in confusion.
“Lunch with the king and queen of course”
Shit, forgot about that…
