Mia:
The palace was being reconstructed after the fire and what had happened earlier this week.
Both Rebecca and I were now in our dance class with Madam Coco, she could tell that we were not happy especially with the events that have occurred, but said nothing as we followed her instructions and moved to the beat of the music.
“All hail Queen Kiara” we heard Daniel, mother’s guard call as she approached the dance room.
We all stopped and both Rebecca and I stood at the front while Madam coco and our maids stood behind us bowing down to mother as she entered the class, Rebecca and I straightened and looked at the queen who was smiling at us, though the smile was not mutual from our side.
“How are you girls?” Mum asked softly.
“We’re fine” I answered.
Knowing that we were still angry about what had happened, and the fact that we were still locked up in Andrea and I’s chamber, not allowed to go out unless it was for classes and we were to be escorted by two guards, mum did not comment on our behavior.
“Your father and I were thinking of having a family lunch today, the six of us” mother said calmly.
“I’ve got studies” Rebecca said quickly.
“And I’ve got a research to do in the library”
“Girls how long are you going to keep this up?” Mum asked.
“We aren’t doing anything your grace, simply stating that we have a tight schedule” I answered.
“Mia…”
“Your grace, if you would please allow me to talk to our princesses” Madam Coco said gently, she walked forward and stood in front of Rebecca and I facing mum.
Mum looked at Madam Coco and nodded, she had been in the palace since dad was a child, she raised him as a child, then when we were born she took it in her account to raise and care for us.
Mum walked out after we all bowed down to her and Madam Coco turned to face Rebecca and I with a gentle smile on her face.
“Ladies, could you leave the princesses and I alone?” Madam Coco told our maids, they nodded and bowed down before walking out the door and closing it behind them.
“Take a seat girls” Madam Coco said and we nodded walking to the brown leather couches which were on the far edge of the room, both Rebecca and I sat down beside one another while Madam Coco sat in front of us with a soft smile on her face.
“You know that you will eventually have to talk to your parents” Madam Coco said softly.
“They’re locking us up Madam Coco and blaming us for saving their lives” Rebecca said looking at her.
“None of them are blaming you princess, they were just worried about losing any of you” Madam Coco said looking at us both, I said nothing and just kept my eyes on the floor.
“Princess Mia?” Madam Coco called me, and I looked at her to find her waiting for me to answer what she had said.
“With all due respect Madam Coco even if they were worried for them to lock us up for days, to neglect and not listen to a word we said, how would you expect us to react?” I asked.
“I do understand your anger princess, but they are your parents at the end of the day”
“Parents or not Madam Coco I don’t believe that anyone should be locking a person for saving his life the way they’re locking us up, and not to mention that we are their children” Andrea said entering the room with Rolan, Madam Coco stood up and bowed down to them and both Rebecca and I stood to hug our brothers, both of them had their bows and arrows strapped to their backs as they had archery earlier, Andrea kissed my forehead then Rebecca’s and Rolan wrapped his arms around my waist holding me close to him, he may have been younger than I was but he was definitely taller.
“My princes, how are you?” Madam Coco asked softly.
“We are fine Madam Coco” Rolan smiled “how are you?”
“As long as my princes and princesses are fine, what more could I ask for?” Madam Coco smiled.
“Mum and dad want us for lunch today” Andrea said in a hard tone.
“We know mum was here a while ago” I said, and Andrea nodded.
“What did you tell her?” Rolan asked.
“I’ve got studies”
“And I’ve got research”
“Very nice looks like we’ve got the same minds cause both Andrea and I said the same thing when dad asked us” Andrea chuckled making both Rebecca and I laugh.
Madam Coco simply shook her head knowing that right now there was no possible way of changing our minds, especially since she knew that we did nothing wrong.
“I’m not going to tell you what to do, you are all already old enough to know what’s right and what is wrong” Madam Coco said looking at us “but I do hope that you attend your parents lunch invitation this afternoon and be at your best behavior”
“But…”
“No buts Prince Rolan, these are still the king and queen and they have invited you for lunch, angry or not, annoyed, pissed, disappointed or hurt you must not forget that they are not only your parents but they’re also your king and queen and you must treat them as so” Madam Coco said stopping us from any objection, we knew that she was right.
“Yes Madam Coco” all four of us said in sync and she smiled nodding.
“Good, now I do hope that I’ve made myself clear and that I will hear of no trouble from your parents this evening” she said looking at both Andrea and I, she knew that if we kept ourselves controlled then Rolan and Rebecca would do the same and hopefully this evening would end without a fight.
“Yes Madam Coco” she could tell that we were annoyed and wanted nothing more than to avoid the invitation, but she also knew that we never disobeyed her.
“Pretty smiles now” Madam Coco said in a teasing manner making us laugh and smile at her, she smiled and nodded at us “good, now go get ready for your other classes before lunch time”
She dismissed us and we walked out of the room together, our maids and the boys’ guards following a few steps behind as we headed to the royal library having a class with Mr. Griswold about the history of the kingdom, as if we didn’t know it already.
“So, what are we going to do?” Rolan asked and I raised an eyebrow “you can’t really be serious about us going to this lunch?”
“We’re going to lunch, we can’t do anything about it it’s Madam Coco who asked us to go, we’ll talk about that later” Andrea said not looking at him, the guard Nelson opened the library door and Rolan, Rebecca, Andrea and I entered the library alone, the guards and maids staying by the door, to find Mr. Griswold writing something on the board.
It was seconds later that his eyes met ours and he smiled at us making us frown.
Mr. Griswold never smiled.
I looked at Andrea who was frowning in confusion, we turned to face him and that’s when our eyes caught his ears.
The man that stood in front of us was not Mr. Griswold.
It was an elf…
