Ren’s heart was thundering.
A part of him was shouting abuse at himself, unable to believe that he was really putting himself through this all over again.
Rhys was trying to get closer to him. This much was obvious.
But despite Kade’s words and assurances, Ren still didn’t know for a fact what Rhys’ reasons were for doing all of this or what he was after.
Ren was just a beta as far as Rhys knew. What use could he, with his elite alpha background, have with him?
Did he want Ren for a friend? Him? The same guy Rhys believed was seeing him as, if not exactly a rival, then at least as a hindrance?
And… did he really need to rearrange the room assignments just to have him as a friend?
