I am so nervous. What is my father planning here? He has never taken any interest in anyone in my life, so why Alexis? I admit that I have never brought a female into the pack lands before, but still, his sudden intrusion into my personal affairs is really starting to worry me. I grab Alexis' arm and pull her behind me.
"What are you trying to prove dad?"
"What is their to prove? I just want to see her skills for myself"
"How?"
"I am going to fight her"
My throat nearly closes over and I am finding it incredibly hard to breathe.

Alexis steps out in front of me so I can finally focus on her face. Her face is soft and full of smiles.
