Ruined Moments

Evan's Pov:

I hated leaving Sara in the hospital but I needed to get settled since I'll be staying here with her. I've already decided I just have to tell the king and Mia which won't be easy. Mia is like my little sister and has been a big help to me since the spell was broken. I'm still haunted by the past but having her, Max, and Brent made things easier. Leaving everyone will suck but it's not like I'll never see them again I can visit them and they can visit me.

Finding Sara was a shock and I never expected to find her in truth with everything that I did I expected the Goddess to never give me a second chance. I'm happy she did though Sara has been through hell I can see in her eyes so much pain. Which is another reason I can't leave her she needs me just as much as I need her. Maybe with time the two of us can help each heal I hope but even if I don't I'm still gonna make sure she is happy and that no one hurts her again.

I just hope that my staying in her room won't cause her any stress. I was happy when she asked I wanted badly to be near her especially with that bastard running loose. Sleeping in her room means I can better protect her from him. Oh, how I would love to get my hands on him so would Drake the things we would do to him. I may not be under a spell anymore but that doesn't mean I don't know how to punish someone who deserves it. I shake my head clearing the thoughts from my mind the last thing I need is to be worked up when I talk to Sara's father about moving my stuff into her room. I don't think he will like it even though I am her mate and it's what she wants.

I can't blame him if he does get mad I wouldn't like the thought of some guy in my daughter's bed either even if they are mates. "Can someone please tell me where Alpha Reynolds is", I ask once I reach the packhouse. "Uh yeah, but who are you", A guy in his forties asks as he walks up to me. "My name is Evan Richards I came here from the Royal Pack with two others", I tell him and notice how he and a few others eye me warily when they hear my name. I'm not really shocked I just wish people would treat me normal usually people are too scared to talk to me or they hate me very few treat me like a person.

"Right follow me I'm Gamma Walters but you can call Steven if you wish", he says introducing himself. "I take it your here about Sara she is your mate news like that travels fast wouldn't shock me if the whole pack already knew", he continues as we start walking up a set of stairs. "That's usually the case with any pack and yeah I'm here about Sara she wants me to stay with her instead of the packhouse and since she lives with her father I figured I should talk to him first", I tell Steven. "I see well good luck with that she's his only daughter and knowing him he won't be happy", Steven tells me. "I kind of figured but also know she's better protected from that little bastard if I'm with her", I say slightly growling thinking of him again. "That is true I'd explain that to him and you just might be able to", Steven says as we come to a stop outside of what I assume is the alpha's office.

"You can come in", I hear Alpha Reynolds say before I could even knock. I hesitate before walking in my nerves getting the better of me. As I walk in I notice Alpha Reynolds sitting at his desk looking at what I assume is a picture of Sara. I sit down and nothing is said for a few minutes before I hear him sigh and set the picture back down. "I know why your here and I know what your gonna ask", he says making me relax slightly. "You do and your okay with it", I ask him cautiously not wanting to anger my mate's father. "Yes, all I ask is that you allow her to visit often and don't keep her from me", he says making me confused. "Uh sir I don't think we're on the same page do you think I'm taking Sara back to the Royal Pack", I ask him as he looks over at me away from the photo.

"Alpha Reynolds Sir I don't think we're on the same page I'm not taking Sara away from her pack", I tell him making a look of confusion and relief wash over him. "Your not but what your job and friends", he says still slightly shocked since most females move to their mate's pack. "It's not like I'll never see them again I can visit them and they can visit me and as for work I'm sure I'll find something I'm good at here", I say with a shrug. "Sara's your only kid and the next alpha of this pack if chooses to be it would be wrong to take her from her home I know I'm breaking tradition but she needs to stay here around her family and friends she needs the support taking her to a new pack would do more harm than good but that's just one reason for us to stay here", I tell him watching him relax.

"I'm glad to hear that you have decided to stay I had planned on Sara taking over for me when I stepped down but in the end, it is her choice now the question is what exactly did you come to speak to me about", he asks. "Well I had originally planned on staying at the packhouse but Sara asked if I would stay with her and since she lives with you I figured I should ask you", I tell him nervously. "I see", he says with a sigh obviously not liking the idea. "Look I know we just met each other and it's a big step but I would be able to protect her if Trey should come after her again I promise I have no intention in forcing her into anything my goal in coming here was to help her and I want to do that even more now that I know she is my Mate", I tell him rambling.

"Evan it's okay I don't particularly like the idea of some guy sleeping in my daughter's room even if you are her mate but I would rather her be safe and if that means you staying in her room then I'll have to accept it especially if it means she's happy again", he says stopping my rant. "Seriously I can stay with her", I ask shocked he agreed so easily. "Yes you can but if even think about forcing her into anything or you hurt her I'll kill you", he says seriously. "I wouldn't dream of hurting her", I tell him honestly I could never hurt my sweetheart.

"So it's okay to move my stuff over", I ask him making sure I heard him right. "Yes you can move your stuff just promise me you'll protect her", he says. "I will protect till my last breath", I and Drake tell him combining our voices into one feeling the same way. "I hold you both to that promise", he says as Steven walks in a serious look in his eyes. "Alpha my apologies for the intrusion but the beta from the Royal pack and the vampire who came with him have found something", he says making Alpha Reynolds jump up. "Where's Sara whose with her", Alpha Reynolds asks. "she is currently still in the hospital I had one of the nurses call her friends to bring her some stuff so she could get ready to leave once she ate", I tell him as his eyes gloss over my guess mind linking her friends.

"Good Steven help Evan get his stuff to my house then come meet us Evan escort my daughter home and look after her", he says as we all leave his office. "I will always look after her", I tell him making him nod his head in acknowledgment. "So I take it he agreed to let you stay", Steven asked once his alpha had left. "Yeah a lot quicker than I thought he would", I tell him happy I get to stay with her. "I think if it weren't for the situation with Trey you'd probably have a harder time getting him to agree", he says as we walk into my room where my bags are sitting.

After grabbing my bags we head for the Alpha's house and he lets us in. "Well this is where I leave you here's the key please watch out for Sara I know I really don't need to ask since your her mate but she's been through enough I'm not gonna go into details because it's not my story to tell and no I don't mean what happened with Trey just look after her okay she means a lot to this pack", he says running off not waiting for me to respond.

I don't bother unpacking I'm ready to get back to the hospital and see Sara again. It doesn't take me long to get back since I'm kind of rushing. When I get to her room it looks like she's having a conversation with her wolf I don't bother interrupting them. She's so beautiful is the only thing running through my head at the sight of her. Don't get me wrong she was gorgeous in her hospital gown but now I can't even describe how she looks.

"Hey you ready", I ask her making her jump a bit in surprise. "Sorry didn't know you were back", she says looking over at me. "Yeah I got back a few minutes ago but you seemed like you were talking to Caroline and I didn't wanna interrupt", I tell her. "You look beautiful by the way", I tell her making her blush and look away. I could just die at how adorable she looked when she blushes this girl will be the death of me. "Thanks and yes I'm ready to get out of here", she tells me as I help her up. 

We walk in silence both of us unsure what to say to one another. "How about we get to know each other as we walk you ask a question the I will", I tell her breaking the silence. "Okay what's your favorite food", she asks. "Anything spicy the more heat the better what about you", I ask her with a smile. "Anything Italian my grandma was Italian every time we'd go over she'd be cooking something the house always smelled so good", she says laughing. "You have a beautiful laugh", I tell her watching as she blushes again making my smile grow wider.

"Thanks what's your favorite color", she asks quickly no doubt trying to draw the attention off her. "Black and grey", I tell her looking straight ahead. "Those are not colors their shades", she points out as I look over at her. "Do they come in a box with other colors", I ask her seriously not really sure where I'm going with this. "Well yeah", she answers and I can tell by her tone she's confused. "Then their colors", I tell her confidently as she looks at me like I'm stupid. "Your wrong their shades the fact that they come in a crayon box is not a valid argument", she says with a laugh making both Drake and I smile we love her laugh.

"Okay miss smart what's your favorite color", I ask her both of us smiling as we walk. "Purple and red but not the neon I hate those", she says as her nose scrunches slightly. "Purple and Red but not the neon I hate those", she tells me. "What's your favorite thing to do", she asks her eyes shining bright with curiosity. "Well when I'm not busy with work I read and spend time with friends I don't really go out much anymore", I tell her honestly. "What about your family", She asks as I quickly hide the sadness and guilt that washes over me. 

"It's just me and my mom things are complicated between us a lot of bad things happened  and I promise to tell you but not right now", I tell her. "It's fine tell me when your ready it doesn't have to be today or tomorrow I'll wait however long you need me to", she says making me relax. "Thank you now since you asked two questions I get to ask you two questions", I tell her with a smile. "First what is you favorite thing to do ", I ask her as we walk by some of her pack members. 

"Before my mom died I loved to draw and paint but now I'm not sure anymore when she died and everything happened I lost interest in pretty much everything", she says. "And now everything with Trey I'm not sure what I like to do anymore", she continues. "Well we'll just have to find something your passionate about something that makes you happy", I tell her watching a smile grow on her face. All I can think about is how beautiful she is.

"What's your second question", she asks as I turn to look at her. "Well I was hoping you would go on a date with me next Friday", I ask her as we reach her house. "Wait really", she asks shocked not giving me an answer as a feeling of rejection begins to creep in on me. "Look if it's to soon we don't have to", I start to say on disappointment. "No it's not to soon and yes I would love to where are we going", she asks and I can't hide the happiness I'm feeling. "It's a surprise I'm still working on it but I promise it will be worth the wait", I tell opening the door for her and walking in behind her.

"So what would you like to do", I ask her as we walk into the living room. "Well we could watch a movie", she says taking a seat on the couch motioning me to sit beside her. "Whatever you wanna you want", I tell her sitting down next her as she grabs the remote turning on Netflix. I'm not really sure what movie she put on the only thing I can concentrate on is her. The way she looks she smiles the way her nose scrunches up slightly when she laughs.

"Are you gonna keep staring or watch the movie", she asks blushing slightly. "I can't help it your so beautiful", I tell her causing her to blush more as she turns to look at me. I wanna kiss her so bad but I don't wanna rush things and scare her. My eyes flicker down her lips and back to her eyes neither of us paying attention to the movie. "I really wanna kiss you", I tell her regretting the words once they leave my mouth only cause I'm afraid of scaring her. "I wanna kiss you to", she says as we both lean in.

Unfortunately we get interrupted as the front flings open and a very familiar voice hits my ears as we jump apart. "Hey bud where you at", Max shouts just waltzing in like he owns the house. "Oh hey did I interrupt something", He asks having seen Sara jump back. "Your an i***t", I tell him as he laughs at the situation this causes Sara to blush even more. "Where are the others", I ask him trying to get the attention off Sara and me. "Their coming I ran ahead I heard you found your mate and wanted to congratulate you guys and we are so gonna have a talk later", he says as the others walk in.
