The Witch Is Back

Evan's Pov:

Shit, I can't believe it. We had just met and I had already confessed everything. I mean she needed to know about my past, but I didn't plan on telling her this soon. She said she wasn't gonna reject me, but what if she changes her mind? What if she wakes up one day and realizes she is too good for me? What if her pack hates me? What if her father starts hating me? I mean my dad was one of his friends, so I wouldn't blame him if he did.

What if all this is some messed up dream and I wake up alone in my room? " Are you kidding me, really your being really dumb you know that", Drake says, annoyed. "Our mate said she wasn't going to reject us and i believe her and so, should you now quit having a meltdown and accept the fact we get a second chance to be happy what happened to us was horrible and I wish we could change it but we can't all we can do is move forward and start healing I know I sound like a jackass right now and I'm sorry but we need to move past what happened it's time", he says before going quiet again.

I know he's right and I know he wouldn't have said it if we weren't ready after our memories came back. Drake was just as devastated as I was to learn what we did. Which is why he didn't try and stop me the multiple times I tried killing myself. He wanted it to end just as much as I did.

After I got done freaking out, I heard the shower start and knew it would be awhile before she came down. I felt my phone buzz and looked to see a message from Aiden congratulating me on finding my mate. I quickly typed thanks to him and his mate, knowing it was probably the little vampire who had told him to message me.

That's when the realization dawned on almost everyone else had found out but hadn't called and told her yet. I had neglected to call my mom and tell her. We were still trying to work on fixing things between us. We both knew that our relationship would never be never be the same again. However, that didn't stop us from trying to salvage what we could of it I would always be her son and she would always be my mother.

I quickly found her number on my contact list, praying she didn't know yet. I waited nervously for her to pick up knowing she was awake already.

"I was wondering when you were gonna call", I heard her say and I knew I was in for it. "Hey mom how are you", I chuckled nervously. "Don't, hey mom, how are you me fine son, you are not calling your mom the moment you found her I had to find out from Max", She says making me growl lowly wishing death upon my friend. "Mom if it was a different situation I would have called but with everything going on it slipped my mind I'm som sorry but your gonna love her shes everything you hoped she'd be", I tell her knowing she wasn't really mad at me.

"I know and I'm sorry. I wish the two of you had met under better circumstances, but the Moongoddess sends us our mates when we need them most. For me, it was just after my pack was attacked your father came with reinforcements like a knight in shinning armor". She laughed slightly. "He saved me that day. I had't seen the rouge that was sneaking up on me. I had been sneaking up on him. He lunged at the rouge, colliding with him midair, but anyway, I'm getting off track like I said we meet our mates when we need them most and you and her need each I don't know her story and if I ever do it'll be up to her to tell it all ask is that when she tells you stay by her side don't leave her mates are special and you have second chance not everyone gets that now you take care of yourself and her you hear me", she says and I can tell by her voice shes crying.

"Yeah mom no worries, I promise I'll take care of her and Mom I love you", I said for the first time since everything had happened. "I love you, now go be with your mate", I heard her say through her tears, but I could tell she meant it.

I hit the end call button knowing my mom needed time for herself. "You okay", I heard Sara ask, not realizing she had come downstairs yet. "Yeah, for the first time in awhile I think I am" told her, smiling a genuine smile for once.

Just as I was about to ask her if she wanted something to eat, two of her friends ran in. "Sorry to just barge in but Alpa wants you both it's important", the one I think named Adam said, apologizing.

"Why didn't my father just use the mindlink", Sara asks, as we start to follow them back to the pack house. "He tried, we all did but you had your walls up", The girl says, annoyed. "Sorry Steph, It wasn't intentional", Sara apologizes giving a nervous chuckle. "I know but serious with everything going on right now you need to be careful", she says making me look at her suspiciously.

I know Trey is dangerous, but I can handle one lone warrior and the way she said it puts me a little on edge.

Trapped within my own thoughts wondering what else could be going on, I didn't realize when we made it to the pack house. "Evan you okay", I hear Sara ask as we walked up the steps inside. "Yeah I'm fine, just zoned out for a bit sorry", I tell her rubbing the back of my neck slightly nervous feeling everyones eyes one me. "Hey all of you stop staring and mind you own damn business", the Stephanie girl yells making everyone jump and go back to what they were donig. "Thanks Steph", my mate says thanking her friend smile. "No worries I got your backs", she laughs I give her a grateful smile as we arrive outside the alpha's office.

Before we open the door I can already feel the tension in the air and I can tell Sara does to as she shifts nervously closer to me. I grab her hand, causing me to give her to look up at me. I give her a reassuring smile before entering the room and looking around. I can tell by the looks on everyone's faces that something bad has happened.

"Judging by your faces, I'm guessing you didn't catch him ", I say as Max open his mouth before closing it. I notice Brent and Ace both moving slowly behind me. "Okay seriously what's going on", I ask getting slightly annoyed. "Well you see we found him then we chased him and cornered him but then we lost him", Max says quickly, making me arch an eyebrow at knowing that's not why everyone is on edge. "And how did you lose him exactly your a royal beta Brent's a vampire and you also had two alpha's", I tell him getting even more annoyed. I felt Sara slowly rubbing her thumb across my knuckles in an effort to calm me and Drake, which helped.

"Max just tell me what happened", I say sighing knowing whatever he had to say was gonna be bad and piss me off and I was probably going to shift. Which is why Brent and Ace were now standing behind me planning to contain me once I did. "Well like I said we chased Brent got to him first Ace was all your lucky I'm in a good mood or else and then his dad tried to talk him down then he said how he wouldn't come home till he had Sara by his side so her dad told him to leave her be then Ace and Brent wanted to be violent that's when the witch showed up and help him escape", Max explains saying the last part quietly.

""Wait what Witch", I asked Max, shaking, already having an idea. "Sydney. Well, it turns out her real name was Patricia.", he says nervously. I let go of Sara's hand, stepping away from her as my shaking got worse. "So you mean that b***h is back", I stated, looking at Max knowing my eyes were flashing different colors. "Yeah", Max gulps nervously, stepping towards me.

"Evan calm yourself", I hear Brent say from behind me. "So let me get this straight not only did the guy who hurt my precious mate get away but the b***h who has caused me, my mom, and a whole pack an immense amount of pain got away as well and your telling me to calm down", I practically shout. "You need to calm down now", Ace says annoyed causing me to turn towards him and growl.

"Evan, you need to back off now. I know your angry I would be to but I'm not the one you wanna fight", he says flashing his eyes at my challenge. "Your right your not the ones we want", Drake and I say, combining our voices as one. As we run towards the window, crashing through it, shifting mid jump. I heard several curses and Sara shouting my name as we ran for the woods.

I ran as fast as possible knowing it wouldn't take long for the others to give chase. "Give me full control so we can run at top speed otherwise we won't be able to outrun him at all", Dake told me and I knew he was talking about Brent who I know is probably around somewhere. I did as he says said, wanting to get my hands on both of them. I watched through his eyes as we ran faster. I could hear them chasing us, prompting Drake to run faster.

Out of nowhere, I felt something slam into us or rather someone. I knew he would catch us but I hoped he would understand and let us go. "Stop this foolishness and shift back", Brent says, as we stand growling, already back on our feet."Comeon man, calm down let's go back to the pack", Max says through the link him and the rest arriving.

Drake continues growling, not liking the fact we got caught so soon. "The vamp is right quit being dumb, let's go back and come up with a plan to kill the b***h", Ace says, having shifted back. Drake looks at them and continues growling, not backing down and, honestly, I want to kill them both just as much as he does. "Seriously, stop growling at me before I shift and drag your furry ass back to the pack house with my teeth", Ace grwols.

"Ace, shut up I get your an alpha and that is great, but your making this worse with your threats. Now back off", Max says through gritted teeth, having also shifted back. "Drake give Evan back control I don't wanna fight you but I will if I have to", Brent says, looking straight at me with no fear. "Yeah dude, come on Sara's waiting back at the house she's worried about you", Max says catching our attention.

Before we can answer, the most beautiful gray and white wolf I have ever seen comes running through the bushes stopping in front of us. We stop growling at everyone and just stare at her we can mindlink but I know it's her as we continue to stare at each other. "Great he's distracted, I say we use this opportunity to knock him out and drag him back". Ace whispers to Max, who glares at him. "No now, for the last time shut up", Max whispers before slowly walking forwards. "Hey buddy I know your mad and I would be to no one blames you for running off we just wanna help now what do you say you come back with us", he says in a calm manner still slowly approaching us. Drake and I know move quickly in front of Sara and Caroline taking an attack position.

"Hey, calm down. I know you Drake are on edge but I promise I would never hurt Sara. You know that I'm your best friend", he says, stopping. I snap at him causing him to stop suddenly I feel someone nip our ear, causing us to look back and our mate glaring at us. I feel Drake give me back control, having calmed at the sight of our mate in her wolf form.

"Evan are you in control now", Brent asks, watching me. I nodded in response, looking over at him knowing full well I would be apologizing once we get back. "Wonderful, now can we please go back and come up with a plan", Ace practically shouts having lost his patience and start walking back as the rest of us follow.

I can't help but get lost in thought on the way back I knew eventually I'd have to face her again the witch who destroyed my life but I didn't think it would now, I was just starting to find happiness again and now she's back to try and destroy it again. Well this time I won't let her I won't let her hurt Sara and ruin our chance at a happy life I'm going to end this once and for all I swear on my life this time I will protect everyone I love,
