Rue’s POV
I went out of the room after trying to reassure Kai that I would be back and ready to face whatever it is that I would be facing soon.
He didn't seem really worried, it was as if he knew I would be alright.
“It's okay,” He said. Or maybe because he had his own thoughts and plans. Or it could be because he knew Riley would not pass his boundaries.
I walked as quickly as I could and I made sure that I avoided the routes that I think my grandmother could take to the best of my ability.
I looked into the hall where we had stayed earlier but it was as empty as air pumps drained of air. I moved passed the hall and went in search of the pack’s battle and playground, he was nowhere around.
Those were the only places I could think of and the only places where I have spotted him
