Poppy's Alpha

Chapter7

***Poppy***

I sat here on the edge of the bed, not sure if I should leave the room or not. Luna never said I couldn't leave the room, but I just didn't want to do anything that might lead me to get into trouble. Last night was a long night; I couldn't seem to sleep. Everything that happened kept running through my head. Ms. Mary brought me some clean clothes last night, and I was able to get a shower in the bathroom that was attached to this room.

Did the Alpha truly mean what he said when he told Trinity that I would be staying here? Our Alpha is normally a calm person. We do not see him get angry often, so seeing him become angry at Trinity was something new to me, and then there was the other guy standing there, his eye piercing through me. I cant explain how I felt when I noticed him staring at me. My body hummed as goosebumps went up my arm,

I know he was the prince, as he is so different from the others here at the pack. There was also another guy with him, they were both much larger than us, clearly they were Lycans, just with their size as humans, I can imagine how tall and big they are in their Lycan forms.

A shiver runs down my spine at the thought of seeing them in Lycan form. I have never seen one. I know they walk on two legs and not four like us; their heads are shaped differently. I have seen pictures, but I wonder what it would be like to see them in person.

There was a knock on my door, making me stiffen,

"Poppy," I hear the Alpha voice,

Getting up, I go over, grab the handle, pulling it open, I see the Alpha standing there,

"Morning, Poppy, how are you this morning?" His calm eyes make me relax a little. Alpha had always been nice to me,

"Morning Alpha, Im doing okay? How about you?"

He smiled, "Im good, Poppy."

"I came to see if you would mind coming to my office so we can talk. I have some things I would like to ask you.

I swallow, feeling nervous. Is he going to ask about Trinity? I do not want to give her ammo that she can use against me later on,

"Yes. I can come with you." I try to keep my voice steady,

He nods, stepping back, letting me step out. I pull the door close as I do, and he holds his hand out, gesturing down the hall. I fall in step with him as we make our way towards his office.

"I have some of my guys going to your house to get your things. I wanted to ask if there were certain things you wanted and where they would be, so we do not forget them."

He says as he stops at his office door, I watch as he pulls out a key and starts to unlock it,

"Oh, um, I can go with them if that helps,"

He stops turning the key in the lock as he looks over at me,

He rubbed the back of his neck. "I dont know if that would be a good idea, Poppy. Trinity was not happy last night when I had her and her daughters escorted out."

My eyes widen at his words. Oh, im sure she is fuming,

"I can go with her," I hear a deep voice come from somewhere. I peek to the side and see the man from last night. My stomach flutters when I watch him step closer, stopping next to the Alpha,

"I would be happy to tag along, as long as Poppy is good with it," He looks back at me and smiles, and my heart, I think, did a double beat.

"Um," I bite my lip,

"Poppy, you remeber Prince Rafe from last night's event?" Alpha holds his hand out towards the guy. I nod,

"Yes, I do, it's nice to meet you, Prince Rafe," I hold my hand out to him,

He smiled, taking mine. I suck in a breath as I feel electricity run up my arm,

"Pleasurers all mine, And as I said, I wouldn't mind going with you to collect your belongings," He was still holding my hand,

"Why don't we go in and sit down and talk, and then we can figure out that part? I wont send anyone till we know what we want to do." Alpha gives the guy a look, and I see the man nod his head,

"Of course," He let go of my hand finally,

Alpha opens his door, and the man gestures for me to step in before him. I feel my cheeks heat as I give him a small smile and say thanks as I walk in.

"My pleasure," He winks at me,

God, why does his voice sound so good? And why am I so flustered over him winking? It's just a wink for the love of god, Poppy, get it together,

"Have a seat, Poppy," Alpha says as he steps around his desk, pulling out his own chair. I move to sit and suddenly feel a presence behind me, making me look back. I see a man holding the back of my chair. I nod at him,

"Thank you," I sit, turning to look at the Alpha who has this look on his face. im not sure what it means,

"Okay, Poppy, let's just cut to it. How long has Trinity been mistreating you? And I want to know it all." He gives me that look that says Do not lie to me,

Letting out a sigh, "I do not know if I would call it that, I mean, I did have a place to sleep and eat,"

He raised a brow at me, but kept quiet. I could tell he wasnt buying it.

"It started shortly after Dad died, it wasnt big things, just small things at first,"

He nodded, "I had Beta Hudson look into something, it seems all the savings your father had for you are missing, care to explain that one, cause I know your father set that up with your future in mind. I had helped him set it all up, he said You wanted to go to college."

My shoulder slumped at his words. I hate talking about this, and the reminder just stings, knowing she took what my dad had left for me, and knowing she did it without a care.

"Im guessing Trinity used it, I know it was gone as she had no trouble bragging about it, but there wasnt anything I was able to do, she controlled it after Dad died," My voice cracked just a bit at the thought of my dad.

Alpha's face softened when he saw how upset I was getting,

"Im sorry, Poppy, but I have to ask, why did you not come to me when things started?"

I looked at my hands, as I twisted my finger together, "Im not sure, I wasnt sure if you would help me and i thought it wasnt that bad, and that I at least had a place to stay so i could deal with whatever she dished out, I wanted to stay and make it work for my dad she was his mate, so i didnt want it to seem like i was going agasint his mate and disrepecting her and him,"

"Poppy, look at me, please," Alpha says, his voice light. I lift my eyes, looking at him.

"You are part of this pack, and we do not allow such treatment of memebers, no matter who they are, I know you think of your self differently then others here, but your father was a loyal memeber and died protecting this pack and it is my duty to him and you that i makesure you are cared for, Im sorry if you felt you couldnt come to me, but that will change, from now on you will stay here with us, Trinity has no say over you anymore,"

I felt some of the weight lift off my chest; not having to deal with those three would be a relief.
