The rogue flinches as Reggie barks at him, "Now get out of here, and never come back here unless you want death." Reggie snarls in his face. The rogue nods quickly, trying to scramble to his feet, tripping a couple of times as he attempts to run off.
I shift, looking up at my mate who still has a frightened look on her face as her eyes track the retreating figure of the rogue. I can still hear her heartbeat as it pounds quickly. She looks a little pale.
"She looks terrified." Mom's low voice comes from next to me. I do not blame her one bit, she was a huge target out here alone an uprotected, but she showed courage. She was smart, though, going where they couldnt get to her, but how she got up that tree is beyond me, as I look at how Im going to get her down.
"Poppy. Love."
