Jochebed has been crying and holding Dexter’s picture since they returned from Kaleigh’s house. She keeps asking Edmar why Dexter would take his life. He had a family and an excellent career. Then she’ll start cussing Kaleigh for not dropping the charges
Edmar ignored her and went out on the balcony so he could grieve his son in peace. He’s thinking about the last conversation he and Dexter had. How determined Dexter was to fix his marriage and to be a better father to his kids. The only reason he could think of for Dexter ending his life is that he realized he couldn’t fix his marriage and gave up. Edmar mentally curses when he hears the door to the balcony opening.
“That woman is a bitch.” Jocehebed yells, “She’s supposed to pay for his funeral, after all, she’s his wife.”
