I was escorted back to my room for the evening. I heard the lock click into place before the guards retreated and locked the other door leading to the outer world. It was dark in the cell, and chilly. A slight shiver ran through me as I felt a breeze of air. Truthfully, I felt alone. I missed my wolf. I knew she was in there; I just didn’t know how to reach out to her. To tell her I was sorry. In that moment I had only wanted to keep my friends safe and to stop the destruction of the forest. Maybe it made me a martyr, but it was still something I would do all over again if it meant I would be able to save my friends. My head was feeling heavy and there really wasn’t much I could do before the night fell over us. I laid down on the mattress and looked up at the ceiling, not really seeing
