“Rylee?” The name sliced through the cold night air, pulling her out of the fog of her thoughts. Kya blinked, her breath catching as she turned toward the voice she didn’t want to hear. Sebastian stood beside his car, the passenger window rolled down, his expression soft with concern and confusion. The streetlamp above him flickered, casting him in a pale, unsteady glow. “Do you need a ride?” he asked again, leaning slightly out the window. “It’s freezing.” Kya shook her head immediately. “No. I’m fine.” She wasn’t. But she couldn’t let him see that. She turned away, pulling her coat tighter around her as she started walking toward the station.
