I smiled as I walked along the beach with the full moon high in the sky above. I was wading through the gentle waves with my mate holding my hand tightly. Glancing at him, I saw that he was staring at me. His eyes were even more blue under the moon's light.
I giggled when he spun me before pulling me against his chest.

I grinned up at him.
Before I could say anything, clouds covered the moon, and everything was cast into darkness. Damon's grip on me fell, and I looked up to see his eyes were now black as he stared past me.
"Dam," I gasped, cupping his cheeks. His skin felt like ice against my palms.
"I told you, Ella. You will always be mine," his voice echoed around me.
I jolted awake, panting as I gripped my chest. I groaned, sitting up.
