My mom let me go and I went straight to the operations building hoping to find my father there. I knew they still had quite a lot of work to do, but I just needed a bit of his time so I could decide what to do. Since the talk with Callanthea the day before, I had deeply rooted doubts and it was bothering me to the point that I couldn’t focus on anything else.
“Dad?” I called when I reached the center. I was lucky; he was in the main room standing over some papers and showing Neena and Alarick something. When he heard my voice, he lifted his head and looked at me.
“Yes?” he questioned, encouraging me to state my business.
“Can I talk to you for a second?” I asked. He looked at me with knowing eyes and nodded. My face must have mirrored my worry.
