After a while, everything seems to be going back to normal. Alexander was back at work and I was here at my company preparing a meeting with my workers.
Patricia and Karen were the ones who worked hard in my absence so I had a surprise promotion for them. The conference room was packed with people.
Everyone sat around the long table, waiting for me to start. I stood at the front with my papers in hand. My heart was calm but also proud. I looked at Patricia and Karen, who sat close to each other. They did not know what I had planned for them.
“Good morning everyone,” I said. “Thank you all for being here. I know the last few weeks were not easy, but you kept the work going, and I am proud of you.”
