Adriana was soaking her body in the fresh milk placed in her bathtub inside her room’s restroom when her newly purchased cell phone, which was placed on top of her new vanity table, rang.
“Nanny Iva, give me my phone!”
She didn't want to stand up because she was counting down the minutes until she could leave the milk she was currently soaking.
Her personal maid arrived a few moments later, carrying the cell phone she had requested
“Here, Señorita Adriana," Nanny Iva said while handing Adriana her new iPhone.
Instead of thanking her, she glared at her Nanny for incorrectly holding her cell phone.
"Did you know how much this phone costs? Your life is not enough to pay for it," Adriana exclaimed, still staring at her nanny.
Because of her boss's shame and belittlement of her, Nanny Iva did nothing but bow her head. She was aware of her bad behavior, but what she can't stand is her bad attitude, which is already out of place.
'If I will be given the chance to leave here, I will. I don't want to work in this hellish house anymore.’ Yaya Iva shouted in her mind.
She has been enduring her boss's bad attitude for a long time. She is powerless to intervene because she needs money to support her family in the Philippines. She knows how difficult it is to make money, so she carefully considers how she will spend it.
"What else are you staring at, huh?" Get out of there, because I don't need you here anymore!” Adriana said to her nanny and rolled her eyes at her.
Yaya Iva simply bowed her head towards her before exiting the evil princess Adriana's large room. She just took a deep breath after leaving Adriana's room.
"Hello? Who is this?" Adriana inquired after answering her phone call.
"Hello, Ms. Adriana. I’m sorry for breaking your peace but I have bad news for you. You need to go home to the Philippines. Your daddy needs you." The person on the other line said.
An unregistered number was displayed on the screen of Adriana's iPhone 14, but the number and its voice are quite familiar to her.
She put her cell phone into loudspeaker and kept soaking herself.
"What happened to him? Can't handle a lot of money anymore, so he wants me to come home because he wants me to help him?" Adriana said sarcastically.
"No! Your father has died; return home so you can be with him at his funeral."
Adriana couldn't believe what she had just heard. She almost dropped her iPhone into the milk-filled bathtub. Adriana couldn't put her finger on what she was feeling at the time.
She was also quiet for a few moments before picking up her milk-soaked iPhone again.
The call had ended when she looked at the screen, so she decided to call the unregistered number that had called her earlier.
Her call was answered immediately after two rings.
"Hello, prepare the private plane, and I'll go home to the Philippines; I'll just pack everything, and then I'll call you when I'm done; I'll bring my personal maid and another bodyguard," Adriana said as she slowly stepped away from the milk she was soaking in.
"You don’t need to bring your bodyguard, Ms. Adriana! I will look after you. Your father entrusted you to me, so I will look after you," the man on the other end of the line said.
"Why? Who are you, and what role do you play in my daddy's life?" Adriana's two eyebrows met while asking him that question.
"My name is Giovann Martinez, and I am your father's personal bodyguard. Before he died, I promised him that I would look after his unica hija and that was you, Ms. Adriana,” the man on the other line explained.
"Giovann? Your name sounds like an old man's name! By the way, I gotta go! Give me at least two to three hours to prepare.”
After Adriana said that, she hung up the call. And then rinsed and showered her body before fixing herself.
Adriana's loud voice echoed in her room after she took a shower. She is calling her nanny’s name. Her nanny arrived and she knocked on the door a few times before she went inside.
"What can I do for you, Ma'am Adriana?" Her nanny asked.
"Fix your things," Adriana replied while wiping body lotion all over her body.
Yaya Iva's brows came together. She was perplexed as to why her boss had asked her to fix all of her belongings.
'Is Madame Evil witch kicking me out already?' Nanny Iva wondered in her mind.
"Why, Ma'am Adriana? Why are you asking me to fix my things? What's the problem?" Nanny Iva questioned her boss nervously. She was afraid of being spoken to again, so she couldn't look her in the eyes.
"I'm going to take you to the Philippines."
Yaya Iva's eyes widened as she heard what she had heard. She hasn't visited her family in the Philippines in several years.
"Really? Alright, I'll get ready!" Yaya Iva said as she kissed Adriana goodbye.
But, just as she was about to turn around and walk away, her boss called her name again, and she immediately turned to face her.
"Don't get too worked up; don’t be so excited. I'm not taking you there to have fun. We're not going for a walk or anything like that. My father had just died, so his bodyguard called me and told me to home to arrange his funeral. I'd like you to assist me in arranging a proper funeral for him. "I've never had to care for a deceased loved one before, so I'd like you to assist me," Adriana explained.
Nanny Iva gave her a nod.
"As you wished, Madame Adriana." She said. "If you don't have anything to say anymore, I will leave, so I can prepare my things.”
"Okay, just hurry up because you'll be taking care of my stuff too," Adriana said before continuing to apply body lotion to her body.
