A little girl walked into the room. Her dark hair covered most of her face and body for that matter.
“Star, babe, this is Annie. She came along for a visit.” Luc’s voice sounded different. Almost double, catching me off guard.
“I … I need a minute.” I turned, left the room, and ran down the passage back to the library, into the cold arms of a dark-haired, red-eyed vamp hissing at me.
