Marco released me from my rent. The processing was fast. What was surprising though was he did not charge me for the consequential fees for early termination of contract. What’s more, I was given a couple of days to stay for me to pack my things.
I didn’t need a couple of days. There are only a few things to pack – only my clothes, toiletries, and my beddings. There was only so much I could bring. Soldiers were supposed to be burdened by belongings. I could leave them there if I wanted to.
However, the case was getting weirder now that Marco was in the picture. Looking around the building administator’s office, I saw a photo of Iris in a frame on top of a cabinet near me. It was a small one, but I could not be mistaken. She was wearing the same big hat worn by the lady who left
