Ashlyn's POV Sitting on the floor, I stared out the window. The sun was finally out after a long stretch of snowfall, casting a golden light that failed to warm me. My back leaned against the bed, and my luggage sat ready by my side. Tears streaked my face, while the numerous thoughts in my mind were too overwhelming to contain. I was so lost in my spiraling emotions that I didn’t hear the door creak open or the soft steps across the floor. Only when a shadow fell across me, blocking the sunlight, did I look up, startled. Hastily, I wiped my tears and met his gaze. “Evan,” I breathed, relief flooding through me. Without a word, he sat down beside me. I leaned my head on his shoulder, seeking solace in the familiar warmth he offered. “What’s going on, Ashlyn?” he asked gently
