Xavier's POV
It was almost time for New Year, but there was still no sign of Ashlyn. My worry grew with every passing minute. I tried calling her several times, but she didn’t answer.
“Brother! Brother Xavier!” Emily’s voice rang out as she knocked loudly on my door.
When I opened it, she stood there with an impatient expression. “Why are you still not coming out? It’s almost time for New Year! We need to see the fireworks!”
“You go ahead. I will be there soon,” I said, trying to brush her off.
“No, let’s go right now, or else you’ll miss it!” She walked inside and shoved me out of the room.
We headed to the rooftop, where a crowd had already gathered, buzzing with excitement for the New Year countdown. Finding our way through them, we reached Evan.
