Alina’s POV
The menacing faces smirked at me showcasing their sharp fangs as they stalked around Niko and I. I slowly lowered him to the ground so I would have my hands free if they attacked and he hid behind my legs, gripping on to me for dear life. There was no way I was going to let them hurt him. But I had never been against this many before. Alone.
My heart pounded in my chest as I heard Logan’s voice echo in my mind, ‘Alina?’ I knew I couldn’t answer. It would give them the perfect opportunity to attack if I was distracted.
Bending lower, I took my attacking stance and eyed them all warily, trying to judge who would attack first. As long as they didn’t all attack at once, I might have a chance. I needed to take at least one or two out immediately and I could only do that as Xena.
