My eyes snapped to the door as I pulled away abruptly, my heart pounding in my chest.
I knew I was f****d up already.
Blinking my eyes thrice, I felt relief wash over me when I realized it was only the maid. From the way her head was bowed and her hands tightly gripped the tray, I doubted she had seen anything.
"Why the hell couldn't you knock? You have no idea what that word means?" Cole's voice thundered through the room. The sound made me flinch, and I turned my gaze toward him before glancing back at the maid.
She was shaking like a leaf caught in a storm. Even her knuckles were now white from clutching the tray.
