Immediately Victor walked back to their table, Klaus was all over him with questions, he wanted to know why Victor of all the people would help someone, he was one man that Klaus knew never cared about anyone or anything but himself and that evening Victor did something he had never done before.

“Man, what was that?” Klaus asked immediately Victor resumed his seat, he was acting as if nothing was wrong and he had nothing a few minutes back.

“I don’t know what you are talking about, I think I lost my appetite, you get the bills, I will be waiting in my car.” He said and didn’t wait for Klaus’ reply, he pushed his chair back and simply walked out of the restaurant without uttering another word, and Klaus sighed and motioned the waiter to take their bills, which after paying he walked out of the restaurant.

“What is going on? You know aside from this thing with your mom and sisters whom of course you haven’t yet told me and you know I will insist until you tell me exactly what is going on, this is unlike you or maybe when you went to church on Sunday, you got saved huh?”

“Man, I don’t know what to tell you but I was just being compassionate, the mighty Victor Roberts has a good heart too, so stop fussing around and making it look like a big deal.” He said as Klaus opened the passenger’s door and sat next to his friend.

Klaus and Victor had been friends ever since their childhood and they were inseparable, did everything together and spent most of their time together.

“Yeah, this is unlike you and it left me wondering, the girl, do you happen to know or you were just trying to be the saviour of the day?”

“No I don’t know her, I think you would know if I knew her, why are you making it sound like a big deal? That lady was being harassed and I just stepped in to help, sometimes be human, it won’t hurt.” Victor said with a deep sigh.

“Okay saviour of the day, you might have saved her but you just put her into a lot of trouble, do you know the guy you just hit?”

“No and why would I be so interested in knowing someone who had no respect for women, you know me better than that Klaus, who is he?”

“He is an investor in that restaurant and he is a casual attendee too, he is a big shot so the lady is probably going to lose her job, thanks to your help.”

“Well, I might as well as offer her a job at one of my companies, look, man, I didn’t think about all that when I was offering my help, I was just being a good Samaritan, that is all, now can we please shift to another subject, I want to pass time before I can go back to my own house that is being haunted by two witches at the moment.” He said back to him and Klaus chuckled.

“Ha-ha that sounds funny coming from you and by two witches you mean your mom and your little sister, what exactly is going on, come on tell me?”

“Isn’t that what I wanted to talk to you about, until the lady happened, I just came to relax my mind and then boom, this moron and his stupidity decided to happen, I am telling you my mom and Raquel has me on hook, I don’t know what to do.”

“What happened?”

“My sister happened, she just came back in two and she already has something up her sleeves, I don’t know how she got my mom so hooked on this issue, but I bet there is so much to it than I already know.”

“Okay, so what has she done this time round, Raquel is always full of trouble, isn’t she?”

“Yeah and this time round she came up with a plan to take the companies from me and her plan is ridiculous, so apparently I am supposed to get a girl, I don’t know in three months or she takes over the companies as the head.”

“Wait, what the f**k, why would she do that”

“You know how my sister is always obsessed with being in power and she already filled my mom’s mind with her stupid ideas, you remember Penelope right?”

“Of course, how can I forget about that girl who was always throwing herself at you, what has she done don’t tell me it is what I am thinking, wait is that why Raquel is doing this?”

“Yeah, that was her suggestion, so you can imagine, me ending up with the girl I hate the most.”

“That isn’t going to happen, you have to trust me on this, and I can help you through this.”

“And what are you going to do, Mr.-know-it-all.?”

“I am just trying to help you know, you don’t have to be mean about it, anyway, as I was saying, we can find you a girl to keep your mom off your back, you know she has never really seen you with a girl before and the rumours running around about you are terrible, I wish you could take one time to consider doing what you mom said, I am not siding with her but you should look for a girl and start dating, you are not growing any younger,” Klaus said and Victor sighed deeply.

“Not you again, why are you all lecturing me about this getting a girl thing, I do not require one, I have a job and companies to take care of, why would I need a woman in my life right now, at least not now but what I wouldn’t do is let Raquel take over what I have tried my whole life to build.”

“That is right, but do you think your dad will allow that, according to the law, you are the sole and rightful owner of the company unless something back happens to you God forbid, there is no way she is going to take the companies from you, I guess it is just a way of hurrying things up for you to get a girl but I don’t think your mom would do that to you, she loves you.”

“I bet she does, anyway I dot even know why I am pouring my heart to you like you are my therapist or something, I am a man and I don’t think it is wise of me to tell you my problems and don’t worry about getting a girl, I am going to surprise my mom, I know she thinks that I can’t do this on my own, but I will prove to her that I am not that dumb, I am actually doing everything at my own pace but she won’t just respect that.”

“She is still your mother but in case you need help, you know where to find me, I could link you up with the best girls and the most beautiful girls you will ever find your own choice?” He said and winked at him but Victor was not buying any of that.

“Nah, I will pass that.” He laughed, “I don’t think I am into w***e, you have good taste yes but not my type and you know that.”

“Yeah lucky you, I am glad I could be of help, anyway man, it is getting late and I had this thing with my mom and I can’t be late.”

“Okay thank you for stopping by, by the way, I don’t take any of it for granted, I will see you later then, let me pass by my office and do a few paperwork before I head home.” He replied and watched as Klaus got into his car and sped off, he turned on the ignition and drove off to his office.

“Jasmine, what the hell were you thinking? It was just a desideration for you to act normal and go by your duties as expected, what the hell, do you know who that guy is, he is a big shot in this restaurant and an investor, that act was horrendous and I don’t know what else to say to you right now.” John, Jasmine’s boss said to her and she exhaled sharply, she was still trying to come to the idea that the famous Victor Robert had saved her, her knight in shining armour, but still trying to come to terms with that she was going to lose her most paying job, she had to start looking for other options as early as that night.

“I am sorry sir, but what he was doing was unacceptable and uncouth, I was just trying to defend myself, I am sorry sir.”

“Maybe you should be saying sorry to me but your job, I don’t know what the boss will say when he hears this.”

“Was what I was doing wrong or what? That guy was trying to touch my butt, inappropriately and that was immoral, was I just supposed to stand there and let him do what he pleases?”

“Yes, that was exactly what you were supposed to do, you don’t treat our investors and customer like that, that is not what you do and maybe you should have thought about that before opening your mouth like a little b***h and don’t get overhyped about Victor because he is not going to be your saviour every day and just so you know, you are not his type.” He said menacingly and Jasmine sighed, she was already tired of how John was treating her.

“You know what, that was rich coming from you John, I should just allow someone to touch me and disrespect me because I am getting paid for this?” I don’t know but that doesn’t feel right to me, I think I am done for the night, I will see you tomorrow evening.”

“Maybe if the boss decides you are going to maintain your job, otherwise, I would start packing my stuff if I was you.”

“I don’t want to think about it either, I will just get ready for my last job today.” She said and picked her backpack from the floor and walked out of the locker room, used the back door and hailed a cab, she was working at a diner a few meters from where she stayed and that was where she would work late into the night before heading back to her place, as she was seated in the backseat of the car, she couldn’t stop thinking about what happened at the restaurant, about the mighty Victor Robert who every girl in town was obsessed with, she didn’t want to raise her hopes p for nothing because Victor wouldn’t even look her side twice, all she could think of was how she was going to get another job because she was hell-bent sure she had lost her job at the restaurant after the drama she pulled.

“Ma’am we are here.” The driver said bringing her back from her reverie and she immediately got out of the car, “Hey you haven’t paid me for the trip?”

“Oh yeah, I am sorry, my mind wasn’t just here, here you go, thank you for the drive.”

“No problem, I hope you get over whatever is going on with you.” He said and she nodded in agreement, he then started the car and sped off just as Jasmine walked into the diner.
