THIRTEEN “I can’t believe that all Leo cold think of was to ask for his money back, money that he already collected from your mom, it has been two years ever since he left and you are telling me that I drove you in such a hast only for him to come and ask for his money back, who even does that?” Tiffany asked Jasmine the following as they were seated in her car outside the hospital, she had taken her for checkup and dressing up her wound and the two decided to chat in her car, Jasmine had already talked about her accident and she had agreed to give her a one week off until she got back on her feet and the coffee shop also gave her time off until she got better. “Apparently Leo, you know I thought he would come and say sorry for leaving just like that but he wasn’t even sorry about anything for that matter, he was there bragging about how successful he had been over the years he left.” “Successful and yet he still wanted his money back, what a douchebag, if you asked me, I would say he wasn’t fit for you and he was just using you, I don’t know for what but I never liked him for you, I kept telling you the same thing but I didn’t want to meddle into your business and your relationship for that matter, so I was happy when he left, it was a good chance for you to start over and look at your life now, you are doing better now and that is all that matters, look at you, you have grown into such a fine a*s beautiful lady, forget about him and focus on who you are right now and what you have.” “Thank you Tiff, that means so much to me, maybe I needed to hear that.” “And where did you get the money to come back to this expensive hospital anyway?” “He gave me the money and I took it, I shouldn’t have taken it, I wonder what he thinks of me right now.” “Why does it matter to what he thinks of you anyway, he knocked you down or let me say, he hit you with his car and he was just doing what was expected of him, or unless you are slowly falling for him and you are not telling me huh?” She asked and winked at her but Jasmine just brushed it off, she knew even if she was to fall for him, she stood no chance in his life whatsoever. “Every girl I this city always has a crush on Victor, I mean have you ever seen him closely, he has everything that a woman would look for in a man, he has the looks, he is cute with his ocean blue eyes, you would stare in them the entire time and get lost in them, he has everything that you could ever want in a man but look at me, I have nothing, I don’t even stand a chance to be his servant let alone think about being is girlfriend.” “So do you like him?” “What sort of a question is that, he is likeable and you know I anyway, I took the money, let him think what he wants t think, I was hoping you would drop me at the college, I want to register for the exams, maybe I would get a decent job when I am done with my exams, I am tired working as a waiter.” “That is a good idea by the way, what are we waiting for? Come on I will drop you there and then we will figure out what to do next, come on buckle up and I will take you there.” She said and then started the car after she buckled up. *** “Man you have to forget about it and focus on doing what is right, I mean who the hell would do that, you have been with your family for the longest time I can remember and I never thought this would be it, I mean you being adopted nah, it doesn’t ring in my mind, it just doesn’t click at all, no matter how hard I try.” Klaus told Victor the following afternoon in his office, Victor was full of thoughts throughout the day and didn’t even know if he was to believe what he was told at the family dinner the previous night, nothing was making sense to him but he knew he had to accept reality sooner, the reality of him being adopted and not being the real son to his parents. “I think that is the only reason why Raquel would be so adamant t let me lead the companies, she always wanted to be the boss you know but she was way too young to handle it and that is why I stepped in after my father, I don’t even know if I am to call him my father because it is so confusing.” “He is still your father, whether adopted or not, he still is your father, maybe you should get some air, you have been sitting in this office the whole day and maybe you should get out and get some air, you are thinking so hard, come on, I will take you out on a drive if you like.” Klaus said suggestively but Victor was not interested in any of what his friend was telling him. “Okay thank you so much for passing by and making sure that I don’t go ahead and commit suicide but this is about me and not you, it sounds so casual ad so easy to you but not to me Klaus, so I would appreciate if you leave me alone at this moment I would like to take some time alone and think about the whole issue, I will call you if I need you but right now, I just need to be alone.” He said and Klaus shrugged. “Okay I get it and I totally understand, don’t worry though; I will leave you to it, just don’t do something stupid, you know I am always one call away in case you need me?” “Yes I know, thank you so much for coming, I will walk you out.” He said and then walked him out, when he came back; he simply could not concentrate on his work no matter how hard he tried to focus, he just couldn’t do it, at around five in the evening, he walked out of his office and headed downstairs to his car, dove straight to the restaurant and went to his favorite spot around the corner, John who noticed his presence asked Grace to go take his order. “Good evening sir what would you like to order today?” “Where is Jasmine today?” He asked, he just wanted to see her that evening but unfortunately she was nowhere to be seen and he had also forgotten the fact that she was sick and could not work until she got better. “Uh she is no longer working with us here sir; I am the one who is going to serve you today.” “Well I want her to serve me and not you.” “But Sir, like I said before, she is no longer working with us here and I will be glad to take your order.” “I said I want her to serve me, what the hell is wrong with you huh!” He shouted and she cringed back in fear, “I am sorry, I dint mean to shout at you like that, call your boss for me pleas, I would like to have a word with him if you don’t mind.” He said and Grace walked away hurriedly, she had never seen him so angry before. “He is asking about Jasmine and wouldn’t be served any other waitress except for her; go ahead he wants to talk to you.” She said to John who stared at her surprised. “Wait, he wants to see me, why would he ask to see me?” “I have no idea, maybe you go ask him, he is seated over there and I think it was a bad idea to fire Jasmine.” “You have no slightest idea how this works, just shut up and go back to work that is what you are paid to do right?” “Of course, I was just telling you, no offense in that.” “Yeah I get it but maybe you are forgetting the owner of this restaurant owns the both of us, now please shut up and go back to work.” He said and she shrugged then got back to taking orders from other tables. “Mr. Robert, you asked to see me?” “Yes where is she, the lady from the other day, I would like to talk to her.” “I am sorry but she no longer works with us, she got fired the other day?” “Why would you do that?” “Because she went against the rules that govern us here as employees, that is why she got fired.” “Oh I see and is there any part of that rule that says that a customer is supposed to sexually harass an employee just because they own the restaurant? You know how long you can be jailed for that right?” “Sir, I am just a person who relays messages here; I don’t own the restaurant I just did what I was told.” “Okay that is good to hear, now you will do as I tell you, I want you to go back to that office you just came from and call her, tell her you are hiring her back which of course you are going to do and tell her to come to the restaurant now.” “Sir I am sorry but I can’t do that.” “So you are willing to spend the rest of our life in jail because of complying to committing a crime?’ “Uh…no… that is not what I meant.” “Of course you didn’t mean any of that, now go in there and do what I told you, unless you want me to take the initiative of reporting this entire restaurant to the police, that would be bad for business and I don’t think you would want us to walk down that path, now go and do as I told you.” He said with a menacingly low threatening voice, John had no choice than to do what he was told, he scram way looking all nervous.
