I rushed out of the elevator and made my way down the halls, looking carefully so I didn’t miss the ward number I had been given. Fortunately, it was the first room I saw...one I almost walked past. The door was closed, but when I tried to open it, I realized it was locked.
I looked up again. B1. I couldn’t be wrong.
I rattled the doorknob just as the door opened abruptly, catching me off guard.
Kimberly’s face came into view. She looked disappointed and was about to slam the door shut, but I held it midway.
“Where is he?”
“Liv?” I heard Marcus’s voice from inside, and my heart raced.
