Kimmie was lying in her bed when she heard laughter filtering up through the ventilation system and her eyes widened with horror. Lyra hadn’t been kidding. You could hear very clearly what was happening downstairs which meant everything which happened upstairs was also audible. She’d never noticed because Ajax liked his music really loud, usually to make her scream louder.
Lyra’s moan and Isaac’s cursing had her scrambling out of her bed and racing to the living room and frantically searching for her headphones. She was digging around searching along the seats of the sofa when her phone rang in her hand. She smiled broadly at the number and answered it.
