The golden city stretched beneath them as the jet descended, its lights shimmering like a deceptive mirage. A city built on power, just like the man sitting across from her.
Kaaya's heart pounded as the wheels touched the ground. She was back. Back in the lion’s den.
Dev hadn't said a word since their confrontation on the plane. But his silence was heavier than any threat.
As soon as the door opened, Dev stepped out first, his posture exuding complete dominance. A man who owned everything in sight including the fate of those who dared to defy him.
Kaaya swallowed, forcing herself to step down the stairs. She wouldn't show fear.
"Come," Dev said smoothly, like he hadn't just kidnapped her from Turkey. Like she was his to command.
She wanted to defy him. Scream.
